Hi all

is anyone feeling like educating me?
I have a Daly bms, but the manuals don’t explain the settings and exactly what they do / affect. I can’t find anything else in the forums similar.

I’d just like to develop a deeper understanding of my system for future knowledge and would appreciate if you shared yours.

ill attach 2 screen shots, the setting in question are:

Cell volt high protect- I know what this does. But why would the default be 3.75? I’ve changed it to 3.65 which would better protect the cell I assume? Or should it be 3.65

cell volt low protect - again turns off discharge if cell hits a value. It was default at 2? I’ve set to 2.5?

sum volt high protect - all cells combined - high.
sum volt low protect - all cell combined - low.

Diff volt protection? If. Cells get way out of whack I assume it disconnects ? Is .8v default okay?

chg and discharge protections. These make sense.

Page 2 questions

cell reference voltage? Assume 3.2 for lifepo4

balanced open start voltage - is this when the balancing kicks in?

balanced open differential voltage - not quite sure how this works

Thanks in advance

how do you turn on a daly bms Will mentioned it in one of his Videos I can not find

Hi Ryang,
I'm just looking for similar information as you shared above, but see you didn't get any feedback. Did you find the info, what's your current settings?

Cheers,
y.

Hi all,
I d kindly need help too:
Open diff volt settings
Thanks

Hi,

Not an expert at any of this, but I found a lot of great information in the resources section about BMS and batteries. One that may apply to your questions is https://diysolarforum.com/resources/lifepo4-voltage-settings-guide-for-bms-chargers-and-loads.121/
There may be more :). I've just started exploring this gold mine of information :).
It may be important to have the spec sheet for your battery in order to know where to set these parameters. Sorry if you already knew about the resources, but as a rather new member I was astounded at the amount of data available there.

hi we are looking for settings for the daly BMS app.
your answer does not apply to the questions

the first sentence:
"I have a Daly bms, but the manuals don’t explain the settings and exactly what they do / affect"

if anyone can assist it will be a great aid. I am surprised that despite the endorsement and popularity of these BMS, there is very little information on the settings

Home Assistant.

However, sorry, I thought you posted this in another forum around dalylog... (https://github.com/njfaria/dalylog) which uses a Raspberry Pi to read out te Daly BMS and then sends that info via MQTT to Home Assistant.... But this topic is just about the Daly BMS and the settings...
Ah, nope, that wasn't me ;) Although I am interested in replacement apps for the Daly BMS, but that's another story.

Hi @Ryang,
Did you get answers to any of these questions ?
I'd like to confirm the parameters I have and like you I had set the cell reference voltage to 3.2v

Cheers,
Gav
