DC House 48V 50AH batteries x2 for $640 on ebay

I don't need batteries since I have a backup generator, but they might get rid of the tax credit next year, so I got one

Morning Guys as per usual offer not available in UK i checked, you guys in US get all the best deals!.
I bought a single 48v 50ah DC house battery via ebay, never heard of them before but reviews suggested decent quality, seems to work flawlessly least for past 3 months with no issues.
At that price seems almost a steal!
Mines parrallelled with 4 x 12v 50ah batteries so now have a 48v 100ah block. Only thing i have to do is remove the 4 x 12v batts and charge seperately every so often to balance them, did fit individual 12v voltmeters remotely so i can monitor their voltage to keep a check on status.

Here's another good deal. 48V 100A 5.2kwhr for $680, not server rack but has 200A BMS with Bluetooth and an external monitor

Nice! Not clear it if comes with the LCD screen, but I could use a couple or four of these. 8*). I especially like the 2C charge/discharge rating, I could charge it in 1/2 hour!

I think that guy with the battery on the bow of his dinghy is asking for trouble. ;)

I ordered one of these 51.2V 100Ah DC House golf cart batteries. I'm an absolute noob to this stuff, so I won't be opening it up, but I will create a thread once it comes in to give info and try to answer any questions I'm able. Maybe it'll stay on sale for awhile.

Do you need a separate charger to do that?

I ended up ordering 2 of the 100ah golf cart styles as I’d like to be able to pull the bms data into home assistant which to me is worth the 40 dollar premium over the 50ah model here. Hopefully they are decent but I can’t find any teardown videos like the 50ah ones.

Make one for us and let us know!

Not very excited about tearing open brand new batteries. Normally I’d be brave like that but these are a touch too pricy. Although I’d like to maybe add an active balancer down the road.

The golf cart one is $40 cheaper than the ecoworthy one which has the breaker and on/off button and communication ports.

Is it worth paying $40 more for that stuff, or better to get the golf cart one and get my own breaker? Probably will come out to the same price

The server rack ones at 720 are worth it yeah, but I’m not sure when those will come back in stock. I should have probably been a bit more patient and waited for that. But I want something before the end of the year for the tax credit

FYI, the $720 will be back in stock around the end of the week

Damn, okay. I put a cancel request in for my dc house batteries. If I can get away with that I’m gonna keep an eye out for them and try to snipe 2. What’s the source for the restock and price drop back? Cause they have them at 870 at the moment (but out of stock)

They usually deny cancelation requests. But honestly, I had the option of both when it was in stock and went with the cheaper DC House one

I'm thinking of getting 4 and upping my 12v system to 48v, but I'd need a new inverter too.. i already have everything for 12v, inverters/fuses/12v-800ah...potential waste...decisions decisions

So eco-worthy responded to my eBay message and said they have a backlog of orders and are not expecting to restock until next month. By the wording it sounded more like January to me not December. And they said they aren’t sure if they’ll be doing that level of pricing again but that’s a pretty open ended answer.

I’m gonna just stick with the dc house batteries I ordered, I can pull the Bluetooth bms data into home assistant pretty easily it looks like so that’s my only real need.

I'm seeing more no name Chinese ones on Amazon for $800. I'm sure the price will be back sooner or later

annnnnd they just dropped the golfcart model down to 660. and denied my cancellation. which i dont mind since i was gonna go with it anyways, but I'm gonna ask if they can at least match the price it is now.
