Excited, finally arrived. Question, I have 10, 395 watt panels with a max voltage of 45 volts, do I use one or two strings? All the panels are facing south.

Not giving us much to go on.
  1. What is the voltage limit of the charge controller?
  2. What is the voltage temperature coefficient of your panels (-.XX%/°C)?
  3. What is your record low temperature?

Jake, short answer is two strings of 5 panel. Your solar panels are likely to get up over 50v when it's cold. And too high voltage = magic smoke.
So 10x50=smoke. 5x50=250. What's the start up on the solar controller? I'm guessing like 80v.
