So i purchased (8) 200 AH grade A brand new Lifepo4 cells from a Chinese seller thru amazon. When i purchased them i didn't realize that just because you are buying them thru amazon doesn't mean that they are sold by amazon. Anyway, i recieved the cells today and ALL 8 of these cells are very swollen and you can see little knicks and scuffs on the casing! What could cause swelling of the cells? Could this have happened as a result of being in a hot shipping container for months? Or are these used damaged cells that the seller has pawned off on me?

I have not contacted the seller yet. I litterally got them only 7 or 8 hours ago now. They all are the same voltage at 3.33

Those look perfectly fine !
GEEZ LOUISE... Understand that LFP by design & nature will expand & contract a little during operation pending on voltage & temperature. IF you want exactly precise square/flash and perfectly flush LFP cells, you'll search forever ! Non-Existent. It is quite common to see a slight bulge or indent but NEVER more than 2mm overall. Once cells are BOUND Together properly this problem resolves.

Get some 1x12x12 and some very large hose clamps and surround them in a tight frame; you can make them as pretty as Daisy Mae in a whale bone corset during a poker game with a bottle of Kentucky at the saloon in 1842.

Did you do a a capacity test on these cells?
Maybe they are fine...
