dies for 8 awg wire?

For what it's worth, these are my dies from Rennsteig, note the different style between 10/12awg and the barrel style 8awg.
These dies alone will run you $150+ !

I'm not saying you have to spend that kind of money, but you do if you want approved components for MC4. This will at least give you an idea on the format.
When I'm spec'ing out tools, I always start with the best option as a baseline, then decide from there how I want to proceed. But I feel it's at least important to understand, then us individual users can decide what is "good enough".

Rhombic (Hexagonal) crimper: you can get the proper crimper for about $25.00 on Amazon.
I have a hydraulic crimper with hexagonal dies I used to crimp on all my battery lugs. If all it takes is a hexagonal die of small enough size, I may be good to go.

You might wanna offer your tools up for rental in the for sale forum. Charge full replacement price as a deposit, then charge rental fee weekly, out of the deposit and return the balance when tools come back undamaged.
Sorry missed this one, I’ll consider that, but thanks for mentioning
