I would use copper cables, 4AWG minimum.

I'm no expert at all but, I think it would work. It's just that you wouldn't have any communication between the BMS and the EG4. That's my understanding, anyway. I could be wrong.

This is not optimal unless you have a means to keep the 12v batteries balenced with each other. And you would need to use lead acid mode.
