Drain channel for low slope roof install

Good morning,

I’m trying to decide whether I need to spend the extra $ for Panasonic panels with the drain channel on the frame. And if I do go this way, are there any sources for Panasonic equipment that might be cheaper than what I am seeing ($1/watt). Or other manufacturers who have drain channels?

My roof is fairly flat with a 1:12 slope facing west south west.

Currently, I have a single renogy panel mounted to charge my single FLA battery. It’s worked fine for the last decade but I only get up there on occasional weekends and run a single light, radio, etc. The bottom edge of the panel face has about an inch of crud, dust, pollen where the panel frame holds water.

I plan to put in 10-15 kw for an off-grid system and hope to have 20-30 years left to use it. I don’t mind buying quality equipment but also don’t want to make a dumb move here. Getting up there and cleaning regularly is probably a bad idea as I get older. Maybe it’s already a bad idea (chuckle).

Any thoughts or other solutions appreciated.

Tom
