stumbled on this no name lifepo4

there are others that are identical as well

it looks a lot like other batteries ala dchouse ecoworthy. The price is really attractive, but obviously no quality checks available online. I'm tempted to do to because I'm guessing they have their price down to start and get some sales moving? But the fact they use a gmail address for customer service is like the reddest of red flags.

any thoughts? Its amazon, so I'm tempted to buy and just take a looksy inside and see if they are decent enough to keep or not.

I'd be tempted to try it out, that's a great price with the $70 off coupon.

I don't like one of the reviews for the smaller batteries mentions there is no low voltage cutoff.

It looks like the anti collision feature isn't working.

Insane price, totally inadequate BMS though.
Im sure it will be total garbage. For a VERY basic 5kWh bank, might be worth it. Hell, its less than half the price, with easier portability... i am on the fence about getting a pair...

From what I see this is a 48V 50Ah battery, it's something around 2.5kWh capacity .. for $600.
Why is this considered a good price?
I have not paid attention to 50Ah batteries but the server rack style ones with 5kWh capacity are $1000-$1200.

Also, I see this thread: 50Ah for $250
Now, *that* is a discount.

They are all no name as far as im concerned, these companies come and go on Amazon, Ebay, Aliexpress constantly. I doubt its a new product, most likely a new reseller "company" that stuck their name on something.

If you buy enough of something they will write whatever you want them too on it.

It’s a pair of them.

This is for TWO 50Ah batteries...

so further digging I've only found the oem,
Shenzhen Nengte Power Technology

Which, i cant find squat about online. I'm guessing that a lot of these factories are feeling the pinch of the higher capacity cell prodution coming online, and are trying to move inventory. I'm toying with ordering 2 for a total of 10kwh for 1040 shipped.... which is kinda crazy. But obviously the bms is kinda meh, hence them saying keep it to 3600w max with 4 packs. I have a pretty ghetto about 7kwh pack that I've used for almost 3 years that I'd like to move on from. But I don't know if I want to trade garbage for possibly more garbage.

Or go this route.

14.3KWh for ~$1500 for the cells, a BMS, a class T fuse and simple compression/ restraint fixture.
yeah, i've been pricing out a diy. Best I can seem to do for equivlant (meaning it needs a metal case as well in my book), is about 1120 for 280ah cells from gobel power and a diy case runs around 480 including all the stuff needed, so yeah right at 1600ish, so pretty close in cost per kwh, but a lot more work on my end which i have less and less time for these days.

I just got these.. No fuse, BMS or restraint system...I guess the boat was on its way already cause I got them in 35 days.View attachment 255777
they really did a drastic price drop recently, i swear trump getting elected is making all the Chinese suppliers scramble to clear inventory. Only correlation I can find. I can't make up my mind, It seems like the diy evens out with this amazon deal around the 300ah mark.

That's what I've seen as well.

I'm used to building my own packs and have all the tools on hand but if the prebuilt keep dropping I'll buy them to save that precious time, especially if they come with non laser welded bus bars.

Just because it is Amazon does not mean it will be an easy return, especially for these batteries that come from a 3rd party (which they pretty much all do). Be sure to read their return policy. This has been discussed here before.

"To initiate a return, visit Amazon's Online Return Center to request a return authorization from the seller."

I’m having a couple of “no name” batteries installed in a couple of weeks, because it was either these or Pylontech and I simply don’t have a place for rack mount batteries. I do have wall space for “powerwall” style batteries. Oh yeah, I’m in Thailand, so my choices are limited by that, plus I’m limited to what my installer in rural Thailand offers. I’ve spent many weeks wondering what compromises I’ll have to live with vs a brand name battery. All they have to do is charge and discharge so I’m not at all sure what benefit an expensive proprietary battery would bring. We don’t have any fancy time-of-use of virtual power plant type stuff going on here.

As long as they have comms and you can monitor them and/or debug them when/if something goes wrong, and your installer will stand behind the warranty, I'd say you're good.
