ECO-WORTHY 48V 100Ah 5120Wh LiFePO4 Server Rack Battery

The little rack mount ear is bent. Any visible damage on the shipping box? Inadequate packaging?
Yes it is, The Vatrer was bent in the exact same spot. They need to put a piece of wood under the rack mount flange to give protection. Ez to bend it back. No other issues. It weights ~98lbs so delivery guy was cussing the entire way. Free shipping and -$200 off.

It is only 5-1/2" high so that is a tight fit inside. On a big box rack you may be able so fit an extra one saving 1.5" each battery. From the outside the quality looks really good. Mystery inside but so far so good.

I connected the power supply and turned the BMS on while the breaker was off. The BMS came on so switch is on the output of the breaker. On a rail with other batteries the BMS would turn on even though the breaker was off. Understandable you have to choose if the BMS is before or after the breaker.

~100 lbs is ez for me to move around so I have to admit I do like this size. Storm Duty has ended so time to have a little fun. Lots of sleep to make up for but we can fit a tear down in there 😇

The same thing happened on my Vatrer and packaged very much the same. It bend back ez enough but a piece of wood attached to the ears would give it more support. Box was carried off truck and set down so not much protection for ears with foam and cardboard.

Same thing with my GYLL battery delivered over 4 years ago. Pictures in post #12 here :

It doesn’t look like this tiny problem has been solved over time 😎.

Edit: Note that you need to click on the top “100 Ah 48v nominal” line to get the proper thread. Not sure how to get rid of the imbedded thread about my battery build.

Charging at 4 amps since last night. I connected a 15A active balancer this morning to monitor each cell voltage. The balance feature is OFF so only reporting voltages and delta. Sometime this morning the BMS turned off. I turned it back on and changed it to 3 amps. Not sure what happened there. I'll figure out all the comms in future. Lots of yard work to do after tornadoes & hurricanes.

Not to far off topic for me, no worries (y)

BMS interrupted charging differentials greater than 130 mV, not unexpected for a welded cell battery in my experience, haven't seen a rack battery Happy out of the box yet.

Some assembly required....

Turn on the balancer. Got it all up around 3.65. I'm just going to let it sit going out to dinner. Power supply set for minimum voltage 20 milliamps just to hold it.

Previous rack mounts I would charge up from the BMS and plug it into the stack/rack and let er rip. Top balancing to a box with welded cells and a BMS that turned off for a preset alarm trigger and would stop a good pure top balancing. God forbid you open it up you might voided the warranty :ROFLMAO: Reality is that I am usually the warranty.

At least I know that everything is at 3.650 V and sat for a few hours and insure it had a good honest top balance start. Unplugged it and let it rest. Wife wants it off the kitchen table too :fp

Will download the JBD Windows software tomorrow and play with the BMS so I can monitor the discharge.

This is what I do on my one day off, I love it!:geek::love:

REPT 3.2v 100Ah Prismatic Lifepo4 LFP Battery Cell

P/N: DB2717320EA-100Ah Manual

With the single 6 AWG wire, 100A BMS, and nominal 50A discharge Prismatic Cells look good for a low wattage 3kw inverter. the 5-1/2 inch rack height is a plus. Greater than 4,000 cycles is a honest level. Tired of seeing advertisements for 8,000 to 10,000 minimum cycles.

JBD Smart BMS 16S 100A with UART/RS485/CAN Parallel, Support Same Port Unique SOC Display with Pre-discharge Heat and Buzzer Functions P/N: UP16S015-K V1.3

How hard would it be to cut out and add the display?

Tell me about it :cautious:
Half the table will be full of her stuff for a week and no problem but the minute I rest something of mine on there it's like a 24 hour countdown to Nagging has started. :ROFLMAO:
I can go in the shed or the Radio shack and go hide out there and then she's like I haven't seen you all day. So I use proper padding with an excellent little micro lift that brings them right there to the kitchen and I sit down and talk with her and work. It's a very social thing.

Then she b****** about it being on the kitchen table. Now my wife's a keeper. I really love her and she really puts up a lot of my stuff. Hard worker so I do want a please her

Okay honey, I'll move this in the back room and talk with my ham radio buddies. She probably won't see me for a day.

Would you like a glass of wine sweetie 😍

We have a lot in common, my wife also gets agitated because of the time I spend on the Ham Radio, even though I only spend about 5 hours a week on it. I think it has something to do with me talking to other people when I could be spending time talking to her.

I did try doing the coms on Solar Assistant with a RS485 to USB dongle but no go. Will work on that in the future. It is a high quality build with average cells in a nice compact enclosure. It has a 100 amp BMS going through 6 AWG wires. It met it's first round of capacity test.

I love that there is some competition out there with discounted prices and free shipping.

I have it on a 4 Amp charge bringing it back up. Interesting to see how everything balances out.

The Vatrer is now on sale for $937 with touch screen and App monitoring.
I like the LCD data on this one but I prefer the smaller form factor and build of the Eco Worthy
