ECO-WORTHY 48V 100Ah 5120Wh LiFePO4 Server Rack Battery

I watched that this morning. He did a good job. I noticed that he had both the V1 with the blue logo and no address sticker and the V2 with the sticker in the review. The interior views were of the V2 for sure because I saw the 4 balance connectors on the bms and the BT antenna wire.
Also not the double balance leads on one of the cell bus bars near the BMS. The V1 does not have this as it uses one less balance lead

Yes, that is true for the 8+ to 9- connection. I just didn't notice. Good eye there!
Haven't had my quota of scotch yet.
I ran into this changing out the original V1 BMS with the V2 supplied by EW. I have a JK BMS and it just so happens the balance lead/temp sensor wiring harnesses are the same

Wow you are all turning into trainspotters knowing the very subtle differences between each version LOL
The differences may be subtle, but they transform this product from a mediocre rack-mount battery to a top-of-the-line design.

The biggest obvious difference is the addition of Bluetooth and WiFi (though that antenna design is not great, and reception is poor unless you modify the antenna). In addition to that, the more subtle differences seem to be better cells and better cell-to-BMS communication, which leads to better (tighter) balancing results.

Speaking of wifi. Does the wifi option allow to access data from internet? I didn’t find it working if it did. Also both wifi and bluetooth ranges are not good.

Well I didn't think we need to go here but here is another public service announcement.

Do not have the wire lug backwards where it could possibly touch the screw holding the terminal on. Give as much space away from any possible shorting point.

I was going to modify mine so I could access it from far away but then I reconsidered. I don't want someone out in front of my house accessing my batteries via Bluetooth. I like the idea that it only works 20' away.

It wouldn't take much to move the antenna outside the box. I posted the connectors in previous post but stopped myself. Solar assistant as a Read only option is good enough for me right now.

Just my personal though on this..

Yeah that is definitely more than fine, the OP in the other thread had them upside down and flapping around all over the darn place, even when he was tearing them apart to try and find out what was going on, both wires were still connected and flapping all over the place. I was just waiting for another explosion.

There were so many safety violations from my point of view there. It was a absolute mess. Just waiting for an issue.

But just like work we address everything. Make it burned in everybody's brain. Put notices above toilets of somebody doing something stupid and don't let that be you.

If you do something stupid and get hurt or blow something up, you're going to be in a notice in every toilet at work 🤣

Can I do that with one of these ecoworthy and 2 DC HOUSE batteries? It will save me $85 over using 2 ecoworthy ones instead.
If you go out to the Eco-Worthy web site they are selling their

ECO-WORTHY 5.12kWh 51.2V Server RackECO-WORTHY 5.12kWh 51.2V Server Rack for $839.99Regular price $1299 cheaper than two 48v 50 ah batteries.

While making my video, these posts were fantastic. Great points
Then why is the battery no longer available on Amazon, E-Bay or your website?
Why can't your technical support folks explain or remedy issues with the RS232/UART port not working or the two UART ports for connection of the Bluetooth, LCD or UART Communication Box not working.

Here are some suggestions.

1) improve packaging to prevent damage!!!! The faceplate, rack ears, and handles are getting smashed.

2) swapping the battery "Terminal" positions Positive on the LEFT and Negative on Right, Industrial standard

3) supply 4 terminal covers, not just one red and one black. There are 2 (+) and 2 (-) so should be 4

4) I am told by "Oliver" that a quad battery rack will be available by end of the month. Any pictures? This will be a great option for you to offer.

5) Keep the BMS compatibility as many of us already have battery systems. Being JBD compatible is a big plus for this product.

6) Offer a separate plug in meter that will plug into the RS485 and display SOC. This would be great for people that want a simple external display. Something they could mound on a wall or surface.

7) Add a Nader MX+OF2 shunt release breaker. The BMS has an output to trigger this safety feature. Gets you closer to UL Listing.

So let me recap:
1) You neutered the BMS by intentionally disabling several communication ports.
2) Customers cannot add Bluetooth or LCD components that JBD makes for this BMS because of the disabled UART ports.
3) The cells you use are questionable; The cell tops are covered with a glued on (at least in mine) cardboard that might hide any cell QR Code.
4) The cells are significantly smaller that in other server rack batteries that I have which then brings into question the actual cell capacity in Ah.
5) The battery does not have any fire suppressant modules.
6) The supposed "custom" firmware is not documented so what did/are you doing different than the original firmware (compensating for the smaller cells maybe?)
7) Little to no customer support and poor documentation and you do not provide a link to any software on your website.
8) I was provided an email address for technical support "ecoworthy@163.com", 163.com leads to a very weird website. Your technical folks have yet to respond to any emails concerning my questions about the UART ports. Why not just respond as you have that they are intentionally disabled.

In short your battery sells in the $1,000.00 price range (may also have additional shipping cost) but I can purchase a "better" battery from a well know manufacturer in the $1,200.00 price range with free shipping and better customer support.

ECO-Worthy supposedly has an office/presence in California but I cannot find a business license issued to ECO-Worthy (or Eco-Worthy Solar Technology Co., Ltd.) by the California Secretary Of State Business Office and you are not accredited by Better Business Bureau and in fact your rating is "F".

Did I miss anything?

These tests took me over a week and I finally posted my video below.

Check out the capacity test results. I also mentioned this thread haha!
I feel beat up but I was honest :) I did get more after balancing and opening up the BMS capacity where it wouldn't stop the discharge. The BMS also stops full charge by counting coulombs and unless altered stops at 80% or LV Disconnect.

I take all welded server rack batteries and run them up to 3.650V/Cell with an external power supply and active balancer. Saves days if not weeks off the process. No need to install one once everybody is happily top balanced.

After many cycles the E-W is keeping up with the Vatrer and LP4V1 (<2%) so it was a nice reasonably priced battery to add to my system.

I am not in a YouTube competition so no need to post anything there. I had a lot of fun at a reasonable price and they are working just fine. Looking forward to the 6 rack unit where I can add one more to my collection.

50ah x2 is much cheaper when on sale. And I was comparing to the ecoworthy when they were under 800. Now it's 840

they were under 800 last week so their marketing team is always changing it. May be when a shipment comes in and they get filled up the price goes down.

I almost went the 50ah but I wanted monitoring and the 100 lb size was perfect. I have a 19" rack fetish.

Oh no worries! I didn't mean to do that at all. No matter what I always have to question all information available to me on the forum and on the internet. It was very helpful all the data that you posted.

What capacity test results are you getting with the vatrer? I'm testing those right now.

Oh I don't see you as competition haha I'm just trying to find problems with it. When people like a product, I make it my mission to find something wrong.
