ECO-WORTHY 51.2V 280AH 14.336kWh Beasty Battery

What software are you using for that? Looks like a nicer version of what I was using for the Pace BMS in the Cycclevolts.
That is a global version and it does work. The other version I found seems to have better visual appeal. I had a hard time getting it into English so I went into the config.json and changed the language form "0" to "1" and it was in English. I believe option 2 follows the computer default.

Not ready to release specific software's yet. Still charging up on cycle 2 and I'll see what I can get the cell differential to. I haven't opened it yet and didn't do the BBob balance method. I don't think I'll need to..

This is a very strange place where it makes you reevaluate everything.. Would it have been easier to role a few of these in and not deal with the racks? Price wise and space? WOW... For someone new starting out they may want to consider something like this over the rack..

I still have to get into the battery room.. That is going to be a challenge. Free beer and warm pool at Bob's house. By the way while you are here...

I can already hear it "now what do you need me to move"... and "damn they just keep getting bigger"

I finally got the computer to talk to the beastly battery. I have two softwares both are Pace based.

I'm connecting through the RS232 port. I know somebody who's very happy right now..... And I know he's going to rub it in 😝

It's been charging all day long..........

I'll give a screenshot of the balance when I can I see the minimum voltage differential is 20mV in the software. The LP4V1 The fault was 30mV so I'm happy with 20 mV.

2 years ago I was happy with a 100mV, what a nightmare that was... Okay those days are over I'm not going back there with the "beta battery".

We've come a long way baby!

You are not talking about me are you?? I really like the Three independent (and some other BMS) communications channels. opens up a lot of possibilities, including Solar Assistant.

I had a bet with somebody when we got locked inside a tower site where some goomba lock the gate and we couldn't get out the forest. It was night time the mosquitoes were horrible.

He swore by his DeWalt battery operated band saw and proceeded to try to cut the lock and chain.

It was an exceptional case-hardened badass steel and it was taking him a while.

I walked over with my trusty battery operated DeWalt angle grinder and made short action through the lock itself cuz I didn't want to hurt the chain because then we'd probably have to buy a new one.

He bought dinner that night 😆

I'm on my phone so I found the fastest generic image I could...
At least someone else likes Dewalt cordless power tools. If only @Will Prowse would give them a try

Looks like a Pace P16S200A BMS is the the same as the Seplos battery? I haven't opened it yet. On discharge cycle two.

I noticed it was only balancing when charging. You can set the start, stop, and differential but there is no setting to keep it balancing as soon has charging current stops. I didn't see any settings to keep it balancing. There was a lower voltage setting but I was above that.

To work with all the other rack batteries this Beast needs to come up to 56.6V at least once a week. Capacity is there but a cell triggering OV still there. I should have broke out my small power supply and apply 100ma to it to keep it balancing but I'll do it next time. Charge with solar and load dump in the pool..

I am starting to get the BBob Top Balance tool kit out.. Laying this Beast down on some furniture rollers with the packing foam is the best Idea I have at the moment.

There is another elephant in the room. I have two Solar Assistants. One monitoring EG4 LP4V1 and the other JBD... I am entering the world of multiple protocols again.

I need you to complete your software and sell it to me! I have a couple of Raspberries' laying around. $60 SA License is still the easiest solution...

Just like the MRS says.. IT NEVER ENDS :fp2

Solar Assistant will happily talk to a PACE BMS.

The PACE BMS does have some additional parameters that are not exposed by the software. I do believe the balance circuit is on; idle or charging when the balance voltage and differential voltage parameters are met.

I had a cell over 3.600 and turned off the charger and the balancing stopped. Looked in the java xml and software and didn't see where I could change it.

The cell balancing seems to be a bit difficult with this BMS?
Charging is similar to most but it stops balancing as soon as the charging current goes to zero. I didn't see anyplace to change that. Right now I am taking my time and not changing much. There is a config file that I save from it that has some basic logic in JSON or JAVA that I have been looking at. I decided to deep cycle it again and see how it goes.

Capacity wise it beats all expectations.

Since it is a different protocol, I guess it will not communicate with the server rack batteries if using closed loop?
They must be really shopping around for the best price no matter the manufacturer when designing these batteries.

Why would a company not continue with same protocols and functionalities so their products can be used together.
If someone had one of the EW AIO from them and wanted closed loop, they could not put this big battery in the mix of server racks they may already have.

Many people love the Pace BMS but like you say my move now is towards the JBD world due to monitoring and closed loop.

The tower of babble with so many different languages. We really need an interpreter out there.

Imagine if a device like Solar Assistant would read multiple different batteries, report it via web, and output a combined/average output to in inverter in a selectable protocol?

WOW, I would buy it!!

If only someone was working on such a thing and distributed it for free or a small cost. Do you know anyone? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Do we know a guy like that? Always betting for JBD Modbus protocoled? Teases us with a few cool pictures? Who is that masked man?

Reading up and watching Andy in is Off Grid Garage I think I know what is going on with the Idle Balancing. It is related to the full pack charge voltage (where BMS sets to 100% SOC by voltage).

I have some messing around to do. I started charging up before I took the Smart Shunt off the load to messed 2nd test up. I did take a reading right before. To early and I didn't have enough Coffee in me.

It is DEAD and took some juice to get it going.

If you look at the Andy's Garage video posted earlier in this thread is shows the PACE software where the "Charging" indicator was gray and the current was zero but cells still had the "BL" (balancing") next to them.

For the price, why not just buy a couple more server rack batteries.

You do know there is one out there.
I cannot remember the guys user name or the thread title but I did save the Link with the Project Code.

It wasn't perfect but it was a start it would read multiple batteries report like pylon to the inverter.

Didn't help with any monitoring or report multiple packs just gave one reading to the converter.

A war was launched today on eBay.
I have found at least 5 new products that came out today.
10Kw Inverter on a Stacked 15Kwh battery expandable like a Homegrid system to 45Kwh. Price $2500.
Their are two completely different versions of this product on eBay.
I also saw some new server rack batteries and this one really caught my eye because it 16Kwh and has a 2A active Balancing BMS, all for $2400.
Bob better not tempt your wife to use that handy Eco-Worthy Crate to bury a body in the backyard :ROFLMAO:

I get nervous buying something that is only a 3d rendering. At the very least some pictures of the actual retail unit.

But certainly no reason a 16kWh battery has to cost more than $2k.

Oh I see it I had given up earlier.

Still too risky for me with this recent negative feedback

Edited to add: this is feedback from the s power battery seller robby linked to, not the ecoworthy battery.

That is not cool dude Don't tempt me🖕 I haven't got a new battery since Monday! I am on my second day to recovery 🤟

I guess I need to make my recovery group "Friends of Bob"

Ironically that also stands for "Freight on Board"

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😲🤣
