I have the opportunity to buy an ECO-WORTHY Dual-axis solar tracker with controller. It hold 6 solar panels.. never been used.. $200 bucks..

the only thing that worries me is that it uses an older controller that looks different than the one currently shipping

The new from manufacturer 6 panel dual axis is $400 plus 37 dollars tax w/ free shipping.. Version 1.1

the old 6 panel dual axis I can get local is $200 no tax controller is Version 1.0

see attached.. the controllers seem to be completely different.

is the new controller a game changer? has the old one had nothing but problems?

anyone out there familiar with the differences and know just how big those differences are.

thanks.
Pete

Trackers have sort of gone out of fashion since panels have gotten so cheap. Installing and maintaining the tracker costs more than just using more panels on fixed mounts. That assumes you have enough space, of course.

I understand and agree. I'm just sitting out here in the middle of the desert and if I can use this for my EG4 24k AC so I get more time running AC with solar in the morning and afternoon I think it would make a big difference .. and for 200 bucks.. I'm thinking it just might be worth it.. I'm basically wanting to know if that controller is any good before i buy because I dont want to find out later that the version I have is poop.

Yeah I never looked into that too much, so don't know. You could search for old threads. But 200 bucks is another kilowatt or so of panels that you can point eastward or the best direction for morning sun, to increase output in the morning.

Hi, we’ve received your feedback. The tracker has always used the blue controller (Fig. 2). The black controller you mentioned as the “new model” was actually sent overseas in the past as free samples for customer testing and was never officially released for sale, so you can rest assured. Wishing you a pleasant day!😀
