Greetings!

New to Solar and new to the group. I recently ditched my ECOFLOW to go more DIY. I set up the EG46000xp and have 140v running in from Solar. I just turned it on to test and everything is working fine, minus solar charging. I don’t have this hooked up to AC charge and I have that disabled. I’m using pylon communications and seems to be reading fine on the EG4. However, no matter what settings I change it won’t solar charge the battery. I did verify it was connected correctly and the PV array is providing 140v (I can pump this up if needed). I’d appreciate any assistance, as I now everyone is now messing with the cheaper server rack batteries. I have the EG4 app and monitoring web browser working also. I did notice it wouldn’t let me firmware update, gave me error saying something about no remote tech support.
Thanks all!

Does the status screen on eg4 show 140v on PV? Did you put a meter at the 6000xp PV inputs and validate it’s their.?
Hi Matt,

Thanks for the response, it shows nothing on the EG4 for PV, I did verify that it was 140v before I flipped on the PV breaker and tested the other side of said breaker all readings were fine, maybe I should toss another 40v (another panel in series) on it tomorrow. I really just think it’s a setting and maybe I should flip it to lead acid as the battery type. I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes with pylon. I ran the battery down to 80% to see if maybe solar had a threshold kick in, didn’t see that happen either. It has to be a setting.

Thanks again,

So I put three more panels on and pumped it up to 240v, turned it on and still wasn’t seeing any PV input. Is there a threshold I set to charge? Or should I have this on lead acid and set my own parameters? Battery is showing 82% SOC on the EG4 and that matches the battery’s read out.

I just unplugged my DC breaker and wired straight into the PV port. I checked the voltage and it’s rocking 240 ish. No change, minus I don’t like unplugging that during the day lol. I’m unable to check PV input at the circuit but I can test the wire going in from the DC breaker, so my assumption is the circuit is fine. I dunno, was a refurbished unit. I’ll give signature solar a call.

I can confirm you will see the voltage on the inverter display no matter what it is (This is moonlight from lastnight).. If you do not see it here but you do see it at the breaker, i would say it's in in the unit.. --- PLEASE CHECK THE ON/OFF DISCONNECT THE SIDE OF 6000XP ---

I appreciate the visual. Ya, still big fat zeros. signature solar is waking me through some trouble shooting steps. However, I’m not sure how much further it’ll go beyond verifying there is enough voltage at the input to the 6000XP and the disconnect is on, and making sure in the setting PV isn’t turned off. I’ve verified all of this and sent them videos. I’ll post what shakes out. I’m still hoping it’s user error lol.

If you share those pictures and videos with us, we can look into this as well and try to get this issue resolved as soon as possible.

I can absolutely do that, but I’m kinda new to the site and everything I’m clicking isn’t letting me add videos only photos, let me get home and mess around with it. I need to set up the batteries in lead acid mode to see if maybe it’s a communication issue. Thanks all!

I read some place that Signature will blame any issues on your battery if not their brand

They are in this thread helping .. is this bash the company that builds stuff for us day.. if I was then and you talk about me while helping I would ignore you also .. hard crowd ..
You dont know what you are talking about. I would be happy to discuss it with you PM

Message #18 in this thead, seems they they here attempting to help. If they did something in the past, fine, they are not doing it right now.. And again, if you talked to me this way and I was helping I would stop helping you also(not that i know that happened just an observation) .. This is why companies like this don't like coming out answering questions, cause every time they try and help someone like you feels the need bash them for everything they have ever been accused of in all of history .. From my point of view if you want to complain stick to the area of the forums that is made for it. Otherwise let the OP get the help he needs.
