Greetings

In the latest of my endeavors to stabilize my off-grid power situation, I went in big to replace the 5 (very used) BYD packs. So Aug 19, I ordered 52 3.2v 302ah LiFePO4 packs from EEL in China. I was told I would receive Grade A cells that would test at minumum 295ah each. Here we are November 30, a shipping and logistics nightmare later, and they have mostly arrived. I am still missing a package of 4, and I have received 14 boxes of scooter parts that the forwarding company sent by mistake.

First impressions:
The QR codes are gone
More than half the cells have on their sticker a <295ah capacity.

So Ill try to regularly update this post with whats happening over here. I ordered a tester, which just arrived and have started a cycle test on the first cell.

One bulging cell, rated 306ah per the sticker, has a qr while the rest are stripped. They definitely used pictures of cells with them visibly intact, but $128 kwh was pretty smokin deal at the time. If they hold to the capacity I was promised and last, I won't complain.

So here's the first two discharge tests after charging at <25AH rate. 293 and 292AH! Im happy to report that I didnt end up with relabel 240AH cells like some have reported. I am worrying about calibration of the discharge tester as my amp clamp read around 40.9A discharge rate when the tester is rated and reads 40A. If the error favors the meter, that could mean 299AH!

Edits to clean up some authoring slop

I ordered EELbatteries from Alibaba, paid on August 25, 2021 and received them in Bulgaria in November 2021. These are 4 cells with a capacity of 305-308 Ampere hours. I loaded them separately and assembled them. I tested them and I am satisfied with the result.

Testing has slowed down but I did find the QR codes under the top cover. Are these 2017 cells?

Where did you order these cells? Which website specifically. I've only used their American website and American warehouses and got great cells two times now. It seems like the Chinese version of eel is a rip off.

Here is the link to the ones I purchased
Grade A+ lithium iron phosphate battery cells 3.2V 310ah lifepo4 battery for Electric Power Systems
https://m.alibaba.com/product/1600215997258/Grade-A-lithium-iron-phosphate-battery.html

Edit: It looks like they have changed to 310ah where I ordered 302ah. This was an optional upgrade when I ordered but the price per kw was not as attractive at the time.

I wasnt 100% clear on the cell grades when I ordered, but I did demand they guarantee a minimum 295ah. Lowest I have received is 292 on the EB-40L but I know I could push another few ah out of them by pushing the discharge volts lower... I have been cutting them off at 2.8V @ 40A discharge testing.

I have watched all of Will Prowse's videos about his B grade cells and the amazing price, and he seems to think the B cells are an excellent value... so despite the blatant lie about these cells being A grade, they are performing well and the price per watt is excellent pending they last. I installed them finally last week after testing enough to make my pack. I had 8 of them boosting the capacity of my old packs for several months so they got a few cycles, and they are all testing well too.
