Now that my 400 watt system is up and going, I noticed a huge draw when I plugged in my old Dell monitor. Any recommendations for low watt/efficient computer monitors 32” or above? I found LG 32ML600M-B 32” Inch Full HD IPS LED Monitor with HDR 10 that looks like typical draw is 36.7 watts, but that still seems like a lot to me, especially if I want to use it at night on battery power and still leave reserve for my CPAP machine.

Hi SolarGal,

Hope this helps!

There seem to be quite a few hyper-efficient ones, for example:

Glad you brought this up as I just happen to need a new monitor!

In preparation for a Black Friday purchase I was looking at some of the datasheets, and surprise... the watts in the energy star are not what appears in the datasheets.

The Energy Star numbers are lower and probably the case where the monitor is on, but no sound and relatively inactive. The datasheet gives what I suspect are better numbers for building an energy audit in terms of actual usage. Still, I suspect the Energy Star numbers are a good way to relatively compare energy sippers from energy guzzlers.
