EG4 12000xp Battery Settings W028 Fault

You need more battery. You should probably set to 200 since you have two batteries. What is the max discharge rate of each? If each battery is limited to 50a max discharge you need to keep it at 100a. I would just get at least two more batteries.

This would be the max which is punishing your batteries, won't last long.
100a Discharge = 5000w
200a Discharge = 10000w
300a Discharge = 15000w

I have 4 batteries (400a max discharge) on my EG4 6000xp. This allows me to use all 6000w and surge at just over .5c. My discharge setting is set to 140a.
The EG4 LL-s says max 100amp Discharge but recommended 50 amp.
The Vatrer Battery is 100amp discharge standard setting.
So am I ok to change it to 150 or 200 ? Or is that not a good idea ?

The $375 Easy Start has blue tooth and provides startup current metrics but I really didn't see the need. The Hyper Engineering has an error led. I liked the smaller size which allowed it to fit under the cover and the $249 price.

I'd set it to 200 for now because you probably will not run near that for long. I would buy at least one more battery though. Of course more batteries are always better :)

I have had multiple W028:EPS over load faults. Reading says it might be battery or discharge settings.
Here are my settings. I have not had even 6000 watts pulled that I can see.

Any advice ?
If you need any assistance with your settings, please let us know!

You will have to run the inverter on Lead acid mode for you to use both batteries together. The recommended minimum battery capacity for the 12000XP is 400Ah per inverter.

It is set to 200 amp discharge with the 2 batteries now. I did not have to change it to lead acid mode. Are you suggesting I should ? I was on the phone with EG4 Tech support when that was done. Also, I was told specifically when I bought the inverter that 400 was recommended but works fine on less. Is this not correct information ?

It will work on but you are pushing more load than 200a which two batteries can supply (surge of AirCon) at their absolute peak. Need more battery.

Just to start your AC inrush you need 240v*75a=18,000w. 18,000w /48v = 375amps of battery.

i have a 12000xp and a 4 ton heat pump ac unit and it only pulls 6000 watts running, not sure about the start, i do have mine set to 200 but also have a large battery bank,1600 amp hours, it does drop voltage while running but returns back after shutting off

Ok. So if I use a soft start I can solve this for now ?

i want to correct my statement, I'm looking now and it says 2400w on ac, last measurement was with the heat pump, I'm not really sure if they pull the same
