Hey all,
I'm setting up a new EG4 system (18Kpv and two Indoor batts); The system is fed from my main home load center via an 80amp breaker connected to the 18k "GRID" lugs, I have a sub-panel that id fed by the 18k "LOAD" lugs to which I have a 240v load (my A/C) for the moment. No PV input at this time, waiting for cooler weather add those. The system seems to work fine feeding from the grid and batteries.
I have an old 9.8Kw A/C coupled system with Enphase micro inverters which has been working great for many years, directly connected to my load center. I would like to now connect it directly to the 18k via the "GEN" lugs, but I've not been able to get it to work. Signature Solar techs tell me that A/C coupling only works if the 18k is set to "Off-Grid" mode and not using my utility provided power. The documentation is kind of ambiguous and the web interface is even more.
Yesterday (9/13/2024), Sig Solar put out a video showing successful A/C coupling with grid tied system on the 6000XP using the latest firmware. I have the latest firmware on the 18k.... so is this feature supported on the 6000XP only and not in EG4's flagship inverter ????
Can someone please shed some light on this issue for my situation
Thanks !!!
