Signature Solar was made aware of an issue on November 4th regarding the battery charger we sold. A link to the thread is here and here.
The issue: The 48v 25a EG4 Battery charger was consistently measured as only outputting 17-18a by multiple customers and by staff on premises at Signature Solar.
Results: We began testing multiple units from several different shipments over the course of the last 30 days. During that time, we were able to pinpoint a specific run of chargers that did not output the stated amperage. Upon further research, a small batch of chargers was discovered to have been mismarked at the manufacturing location and was included in the shipment of 25a chargers.
Solution: Signature Solar wants to ensure that every customer is 100% satisfied with the product they have purchased from us. Over the course of testing we have decided to offer 2 options. If you have a charger that was sold and is labeled as a 48v 25a by EG4 that you purchased from Signature Solar, and you believe it is not outputting the correct amperage, we will offer you either of the following choices:
1. Keep the charger you received and we will credit you $50.
2. Exchange the charger with a new one (we should receive these the first week of March) at no additional cost to you. We will 100% cover shipping both ways.
Please share this message with anyone who has been effected and feel free to tag them in the comments. We are also attempting to go through all our orders over the last several weeks and identify people who purchased these - but unfortunately this batch was mixed in with a pallet of fully operational units so this will be difficult.
To those affected, email customerservice@signaturesolar.com with the following information:
-Name
-Order Number
-Picture of the bottom of your charger that shows the serial number
Thanks to everyone on this forum and elsewhere for helping us pinpoint this issue and get a resolution. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for all the feedback you provide!
