I'm just putting it out there hope it maybe somebody came up with an idea I'm looking to be able to store my solar yield and Battery consumption per day usage on my eg4 6000
In offline mode only meaning I don't have any cell phone service I don't have any Internet but to be able to save the data per day so when I go back up north to the cabin I can see what my yields were or issues were, I do know however that since it does not have a display that's removable or extendable, I bought a 40 ft HDMI cord with a double female adapter on the one end and ran that from the eg4 location all the way into my camper and plugged in the dongle inside the camper so that my cell phone can pick up the Bluetooth or TCP connection to be able to view what's going on in the inverter from inside the cabin...
Hope somebody has come up with a solution to be able to see their data or figure out a way to store it I was thinking of making a local wireless network with some kind of way of doing a data storage

I would look into Solar Assistant. You don't have to have an internet connection and it can save off the info you're looking for.

From what I gather from that video it does the same thing to eg4 app does Connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and then you can see the live data but he didn't mention anything about it saving each day's data and yield offline like the XP does when you put it online and signature solar puts that data on their servers

That was more of a configuration video. There’s others out there talking about solar assistant specifics.

So do you have to use those mini computers and all or can you use a cell phone and download an app into it and then the phones hard drive saves the information and if so is it like a Google Play thing or you got to go on Solar System's website and purchase the software

Needs a raspberry pi mini computer. It super simple to set up

Okay sounds good yeah I've seen these raspberry pies I've just never bought one or set it up I'm assuming the way to see the data on the Raspberry Pi is via Wi-Fi to a cell phone correct but if that's the case then what software would you have to be on the phone to view the Raspberry Pi

Solar assistant has a web page that you can access anywhere. On phones I guess it is an app, but really its just a shortcut to the web page.
The best part of solar assistant is it gives you nearly real time data. So much better than the 5 min interval of the eg4 page

SA needs internet access to be viewable from anywhere. It will however store local data you can access when you're at the site.

Yeah I did notice that the eg4 has a delay I went on to solar assistance website and they got two of them that are pre-installed with the software on them the raspberry or the orange orange is 180 bucks since I'm only doing this for monitoring I don't think it's needed to buy the more expensive one correct?

Its simply a file that you flash to an sd card. If your phone can take an micro sd card (not apple) your all set with that part.
Yeah I have an adapter that I can plug SD cards into cell phone copy and paste files I just didn't know if this solar system had to run on a Windows operating system or I can run on an Android operating system

No, you don’t have to have any preinstalled one. That’s really only for folks that don’t want to go through the installation process of setting up the software. You can easily buy your own hardware, pay for the license and then set it up yourself.

Be aware you do need internet access for the initial installation. It has to be registered. After that one connection you can take it anywhere as it doesn't need internet to work.

I read that.... I'm just wondering which software module to buy whether to buy an Amazon one for 60 bucks and then pay the $50 for the software or just buy it from them

It all depends on if you feel comfortable flashing the software to a micro-SD card. Some folks aren't and that's where the appeal of the pre-installed units come in.

I've got my copy of SA running on an old Pi 3B and it works great.

Another vote for Solar Assistant, though you'll want to set it up at a place with Internet. Not sure I'd trust 'copying a file to SD card' on an Android phone, if you don't have a computer you can run an imaging program on, then you are probably better off buying the preconfigured one from SA directly all set up.

I do Raspberry Pi stuff all day long, and it was trivial to set up, but it sounds like you want to purchase the 'device with software' option from https://solar-assistant.io/shop

The RPi just serves up a webpage, so you either connect your phone to it's WiFi AP, or you have it on your WiFi already, and then you open a web browser on solarassistant.local (or something) and there's your data. Not sure what you have for a network if you have no internet...

It's off grid no internet at all. with the Raspberry Pi on does it produce its own local server & all I got to do is just open up a web browser and type in the static ip address (like 10.0.0.0)? Similar to a typical router configuration I was just wondering if anybody has tried loading the software onto a cell phone and then using the same cell phone just to log into the web address that is producing I'm kind of doing that similar thing with the eg4 app cell phone produces a hotspot Hotspot sends internet to the eg4 and then I log in on a web browser on the same phone so I can view the historical data but cell phone service is still very sketchy.

Looks like I'm going to just go to solarassistant.com and pick up the Raspberry Pi I'm assuming both Raspberry Pi and orange pie can both run off the power adapter that can pull power from 4 volts to 40 volts or is it just the orange pie

Prettty much that’s it. Connect to the Wi-Fi that the Pi is transmitting and then open the Pi IP address in a web browser.

What software? The SA image that runs on the Pi? I don’t think that means what you think it means.

The user interface for the solar assistant is a webpage that’s running on the raspberry Pi.

How hard is it to install it under the Raspberry Pi like if someone has never did it is it worth trying it or just buying the device pre-installed from solar assistant
