I'd be interested to learn how stable those adapters are. The one I was using with 18kpv (ASIN B081MB6PN2) has been rock solid for weeks. The "cheap" one I posted earlier (ASIN B00NKAJGZM) - not so great. It would function for a little bit, then stop working, and I need to physically unplug it and plug back in order to get it working again.

By the way, I wonder if some of the issues reported here with solar assistant are caused by the same problem.

There are indeed a wide range of quality and reliability in these cheap converters.

I have 2 of these ASIN B081MB6PN2, where did you hook the GND to ? THANKS !
 
Got it!

It’s the plugged CT1 terminal with pins 7 and 8. 7 is RS485 B and 8 is A (at least that works in my testing).

Happy to report SA latest beta is working like a champ on my 3 EG4-6000's. Using the 485toUSB adapters, pins 7&8, and connector CT1 !!!! Thanks everyone for the info ! Yippee no more wi-fi dongles !!!!!!!!!!!!!1741962530098.png
