I will be going to see Megarevo and talk with there engineers to get these issues solved. If anyone is having problems they want me to bring up, believe me I have a list, but if you have anything please let me know and I will try to address them while I am there. I have been reading a lot of the chats and collecting data.

Would you post your list, if you don't mind? No need to make a bunch of duplicates or maybe expand what you have. Thanks for your efforts.

My biggest issue right now is the CT's. I ran for a year on older firmware. Updated to more recent, when they added the ratio feature, and the inverter is so close to the base line that it back fed and alerted the power company. I have since had to run it in off grid mode. I think Dye has feature that the feed in from Meter was adjustable in watts. BTW the old firmware allowed 50 watts per leg to be fed from meter. Even then the inverter's reaction had difficulty adjusting fast enough when a high resistive load turned off like the water heater or stove/oven. Some reports seem to indicate that maybe the firmware switched which leg the CT's were reading? Now that I think about it, at times, now that I have my EPS panel off grid, at times I am only pulling 15 watts on one of the legs. Instead of pulling another 10 watts from grid and feeding to the EPS panel the latest firmware does not seem to want to do that, but instead keeps feeding 25 watts towards the meter and therefore back feeding a small amount.

Not an issue, but looked like there was plan to make Output #2 a smart load output and programmable to meet different needs.

Hi, I’m a little new on installing this inverter. Right now I have small issues that I think they are from the system configuration, but can’t set them. I have a Megarevo inverter, 50k of batteries and the grid is connected. Right now I’m working only off grid, because when I turn on the grid, the system automatically change to grid mode and behind to charge batteries with the grid.

1. I want to adjust the system so when the battery get to the DoD, the grid will enter to charge the batteries. I just want to use the grid in that moment. I think is an issue of configuration, but can’t find where to set it.

2. I’m using the SOLARMAN smart app, so I can monitor my system. The issue is that when the inverter change to grid mode, it don’t shows the charge entering from the grid, instead it show it on the PV side, that is strange, because at nights when there is no solar energy the app shows the system charging from the PV.

Is the is anyone that can help me I wil be very grateful.

Hey, You might have better luck just making a new post in the All-in-One Systems thread.

Maybe I can help just a little.

I would upgrade to the latest FW.

Also

In the Menu -Under SYS Setting- Work Mode- Pick 1. Self Consume.
With that setting My unit does not use the Grid to charge the batteries.
Grid is used only when no PV and batteries are not available.

On your Solarman App

Check out 'Plant Info', and change the 'System Type' to 'Storage System'. App has a few selections there, Pick the one closest to your setup.

See if that help. Just a guess.

What I found out is.

1. Zero Export to the grid is not a option tis is something they are unable to provide with the current hardware.

2. Getting the manual fixed to understand better also changing the wording for some of the settings to understand better. They will start on this asap could take 8 weeks or longer.

3. I asked them for setup guides for different modes that include settings you need to use in the advanced settings. 3-4 weeks

4. The App Solar man being in accurate with a lot of things like your PV data. This is a problem they thought they fixed and are looking into it again.

5. I got them to understand most people do not have close loop communications from inverter to battery and they are set up in lead acid mode because of this. If in lead acid mode your discharge power is limited to 90% and not 100%.
They are looking into making this 100% and possibly adding more settings for this.

6. AC couple is a new feature we are working on with them as well to get launched in 3 months or so.

Calibrating battery voltage. I have two r8klna's and one shows 2v higher for battery voltage than the other. Verified with a multimeter. Both inverters are wrong. Seems to be playing havoc with closed loop battery communication since the bms hits high voltage cell protect before the inverter stops charging.

Enable all the features on all firmware? One version of firmware I have includes the option of changing the CT ratio, but it doesn't work with parallel inverters since I can only pull 8kw from two inverters. The EG4 "generator" firmware fixes this issue but I can't adjust the CT ratio.

Change "charge from AC" current rate as a different setting than charge from solar. I have more solar on one unit than the other. So I want it to be able to charge at 120a or more. But I don't want to charge at 240a from the grid when topping off batteries overnight, I'd rather be nice to the battery and charge at 20-50a. But the only setting I know of for this in parallel mode is the overall charge rate in the parallel menu since the charge rate for individual inverters appears to be ignored in parallel mode.

When in parallel mode it is said in Megarevo documentation to put the CT's between the inverter and the grid breaker panel. In this scenario anything on the grid breaker panel is not being monitored by the inverters (like if I wanted to run peak shift mode with zero export). I ran this mode for a year with one inverter using 2500:1 200a ct's placed between the meter and grid breaker panel. Inverter could zero out the meter. But with two inverters using the 90a ct's I don't have a way to monitor the power between the meter and my main/grid breaker panel. The software that works with parallel inverters doesn't support 2500:1 CT's!

I know I have megarevo not eg4 inverters but if you want to take these items I'd certainly appreciate it!

This is for everyone. Plus the firmware will be the same its the same inverter

I sent a message to EG4 inquiring when the 8K issues would be resolved based on the reviews by Will Prowse. If it worked then it would be prefect for me. Below is the somewhat alarming reply I got.
-----------------------------------
Unfortunately the 8k will no longer be sent out to affiliates. The equipment functions properly when installed by a professional.

If you have any other questions please let us know.
-------------------------------
So I guess Will is not considered to be a professional by the EG4 people.

What email address sent you that reply?

Yeah have fun with that unit 😂

Maybe we should have a professional come to my workshop and I will live stream them in my lab and see how easy they can do the install. Now that would be a fun challenge! And we can stream the entire event and see how easy it is 😂
I wish I was a professional. But my NV C2D license clearly indicates I’m only a professional up to 91v

Above that I’m simply a fish out of water like all the other unprofessionals on here.

Maybe there’s a course we can all take, have someone design us some certificates on Fivver or something.
