EG4 Dongle Connecting to New Router or Network

Back story: I decided to get a new router because I could not get my ISP router "EERO Max 7" to allow Plex to connect outside the network(internet).
I purchased Asus BT-BE7200 router. It can be a little clunky user interface, but that seemed to not matter in this issue.
On both of these routers, I did not need to turn off any network settings like 5GHz/6GHz. Bands. As long as they are all working with the same SSID, it should work, but it might be worth trying them separate if you still have issues.

What I think I did was:
-Reset button on the Wi-Fi dongle for 10 seconds until the lights flashed off.
-Using a computer(maybe a phone web browser will work the same), I removed the dongle from my account using the EG4 website, configuration on the top, then Dongles in the Monitoring Center:

-Click the management drop down and then remove.

Next, on your phone:
-Join the wifi for the dongle, "DJ4XXXXXXX"
-Cellular Data turned off
-Going on the app(auto login happened to be turned off).
-Press Dongle Connect button
-Important! Wait for your networks to populate, do not hit refresh. If they don't populate in less than 1 minute, you will have to do this again, or find another way for them to populate. This is the biggest key in my opinion, both times I have had to do this.
-Select your network if it isn't already on top.
-Type in password for the network
-Press HomeWifi Connect. It should then give you the success message.
-Remove your phone from the Dongle Wi-Fi network. Or you can turn your Wi-Fi off on your phone.
-Go to your dongle and see if it is showing all 3 lights illuminated. Mine were all solid.

Next, on your computer or browser:
-Go to Configuration on the top and click it, in the monitoring center,
-Click Dongles on the left,
-On the top, click "+Add Dongle"
-Then type in your Serial number and Pin, and add it to your already made station.
-Click Add, and you should be good to go!

It didn't work trying to do it all through the app for me.

If you ran into the same issues as I did please post if this worked or another way worked.
I also want to note, I kept the same SSID and password as the old router, this and my doorbell camera both failed to automatically connect, that was it.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

I have 3 dongles that won't connect. I'm going to try your method and report back. Thanks for posting this information !

RESULTS: Out of 3 bad dongles I was able to revive 1 of them ! I had to update the firmware and then BAM it connected to the inverter ! 3 solid green leds ! The 2 dongles that refuse to connect I'm throwing out - unless if someone wants them. (DM me if you want em.)

Great to hear some success! Do you think it was from my method, or something else like just messing around?
I also did try to update the firmware on the dongle through other stages of troubleshooting, maybe that is important as well.

Just so you know...the only time you'll see all three lights active is if you are connected to EG4's website. If you are only connecting to your own network for a Raspberry Pi for instance only the bottom two lights will be active.

To add to this, The network must be a single 2.4 Ghz. New router tech usually combines 5, and 2.4 to make 1 network. I think this is now a big part of my issue. I gave signature a call again because my network went out, and it stopped communicating again after it reset.

I would recommend if you want to keep your wifi on both for better speeds, buy a solution that will work best for you to add a 2.4ghz network. In my case, I already had a 2.4 ghz outdoor unit that runs on Ethernet with PoE. This might not be doable for all, but if you simply buy a 2.4ghz capable router/extender, hook up an Ethernet to it from your main router, then set up the network to only use 2.4 ghz, or atleast split them, you should be well off.

I think I was just getting lucky before when trying to connect, and maybe the router would connect on the 2.4ghz side and be fine sometimes.

Anyway, lets see how things go again, but doing this had it connected and going right away after a week of being disconnected.

I use a multi band Cisco access point and have had no issues at all so I think the quality of your hardware plays a role. Another player is just the geography of your wifi network. Distance and obstructions like air conditioning systems can cause dead/weak spots or reflections which can make comms flaky.

I have three dongles working on a combined 2.4/5 GHz network, using plain old TP-Link Deco equipment, and it works fine. In fact, two of the three are connecting to the meshed device at the complete other end of the 44' long building instead of the device that is about 8' away in the same room for reasons that elude me), but they still work.

I should have been more clear on what I talked about with Sig Solar. The representative specifically said I should split it and it will only work on 2.4ghz band. Now I also have had it running fine on 2 different multi band routers(changed ISP). It was an issue getting it on my 2nd ISP router as well, similar to this. This was an Eero 7.

I am not sure what you mean by the quality of my hardware. Cisco has low quality hardware as well. While I don't nock them if they work fine for people, I avoid their consumer grade products myself. The duel wifi router is on the other side of the wall within 3 feet or a meter away from the dongle. The current setup is a little further away. It works now, and that is all I care about. I just hope in this configuration that I don't have to re-setup the system again if there is loss of power, or whatever happened.

I am glad your setup works, It fathoms me why it would work sometimes and not others.
I think part of it is the setup process as I have other devices that work on only 2.4ghz that also work just fine, and reconnected right away.

For everyone:
I primarily put this page up to maybe help others through some steps and to give EG4 some clues for any updates that I hope they put out to fix these issues. I am no longer, at least at this time, trying to troubleshoot issues. It seems no matter the inverter, the monitoring is always the Achilles heel of the system. I guess at least it is not needed for the function of the system. However, it is nice to use that data to analyze future purchases, usage limitations, etc...

Good luck to anyone that runs into similar issues, and please post here if you are having some similar issues and maybe the community can try to help.

I have also seen and heard of some instances where very high-end Wi-Fi equipment befuddles the wireless adapter. If you have a simple older wireless router try using that as the interface between the two and see if that resolves your connection problems.

I have a simplier problem. Wifi is connected to dongle but not syncing data I don't have the three solid lights. I'm using 2.4ghz. I have restarted the dongle multiply times. What am I doing wrong?

The local phone app will not cause all three lights to light but the app works fine as does SA.
