I'm installing a EG4 6000XP just like OPS is - I have one question on the sub panel - that has circuits that only will powered via the inverter. Does code require THAT sub panel to have a main breaker - or does the LOAD breaker on the inverter that feeds the sub panel sufficient to satisfy any NEC codes?

FWIW, the 6000XP spec claims it can run at a 100% imbalanced load, that is, it can run 3000w sustained on one leg. I wonder how much that spec can be trusted?
That is compared to the 18Kpv spec that states up to 4000w imbalance (out of 12 kW total).
In all fairness yes, it seems to be able to support 3k per leg no problem. We've run equipment that pushes that and the inverter dumps. I've mangerd to map out our curcuits and we can move things around to avoid an overload. But it would be nice if we didn't have to think about it.
