EG4 has updated its website with a new product line they are calling NOVA. (I wonder what Rich Solar thinks of that). Looks like new inverters, panels, and batteries. Anyone have more info on what they are doing? The website’s “more information” link just takes you to a signup for a newsletter. A new logo and updated app is apparently part of the process as well.

i’m just a homeowner (and a solar job seeker) who happens to be at re+. heard ceo james talk about the nova being a flex boss on its side and the 100v battery architecture as the next wave much as 48v was 10 years ago. adam de lay was there, i’m looking forward to his thoughts :)

Interesting - thanks for the info. Enjoy RE+, that would be an interesting trade show to attend.

Hopefully Adam will post a video on that sometime soon. The podcast linked previously had some information but it made it sounds like it wouldn't be as much the DIY community, more the professional installer side that would be the target for the new line. Or at least that's what I read into the comments.

It looks cool but unless you have a manual input screen if you were to loose bluetooth/local wifi it turns into a brick on settings. I hope there's a screen kit like the flexboss

A screen doesn't cost much. I don't know why they keep leaving it off.
It's very clear that people want it.
Make it an extra purchase as they have done with the Flexboss? In the podcast that was shared above, they do discuss briefly a display and how best to power/connect it.

Anyone wanna bet that the new "Supernova" is next. Probably the new real EG 4 21KW inverter to get above and beat out Sol Arks new "real" 18K

American Flag on the corner...
I wonder when they will figure out why Chevrolet stopped using the Nova name on a car. Why they couldn't sell a "no va" car in Latin America or Spain? Why would anyone buy a car or ESS that doesn't go/run? haha

Making what is standard for others, an additional charge, isn't the best way to go, in my opinion.

I agree - like so many industries and products. Reduce the quantity/value included and even then increase the price. Shrinkflation is everywhere it seems.

I guess I'm on the other side. Why would I want to pay for functionality I will never use? Don't have an LCD on any of my EG4 equipment, never will. I can build much nicer monitoring and control within Home Assistant, and I don't have to get off my cozy chair to do it.

With the battery being above 60V , does this need to be in its own room with fireproof walls ect.. or in a separate building/shed. ?

I seem to remember reading something like that, i dont know, just asking.
