At EG4, we believe in making solar energy solutions available to everyone. We've worked hard to keep our prices low so more people can go solar.

You might have noticed some price changes recently - these are because of the 20% tariff imposed by the government on March 4th. We know price increases can be frustrating, and we've tried to keep the impact as small as possible. Many of the price increases are less than the 20% tariff increase, while others are a bit more due to other price pressures.

We believe in US manufacturing to avoid these price swings. By working to make our products here in the U.S., we aim to reduce risks like this and keep delivering reliable products at obtainable prices. Some of our flagship products already benefit from these efforts and you'll notice little to no price increase on them. We're excited to share updates on our efforts to bring more manufacturing onshore in the coming months.

We really appreciate your understanding as we navigate these changes together, and we're grateful for your continued support in making solar energy a reality for more people every day.

Businesses have to pick the moment to increase pricing. Often this is after they have already started losing money on some products that have gone out of stock and been purchased at the newer higher price. They don't want to jump too soon, in case the price increase is only temporary. I am guessing that EG4 has now decided the Trump tariffs will not be going away any time in the near future.

In the video he says the "manufacturing" is a staff of 50 doing the final adhesion of the heat sink and a QC check. Is that it? Or did i miss something?
That's what I heard. I thought you had to do a lot more than that to qualify for assembled in America.
The Worst part is you Invest in this and then Trump wakes up in the morning and changes his Mind again.
I am all for curbing Chinese Imports and making things in America again but it has be a Plan that is well thought out and stable. It also has to give companies time to adapt to the changes.

but the inventory on hand is not had a tariff, so they are not being 100% ethical.
Tell that to any gas station. As soon as anything happens worldwide, gas prices change, even through they are still selling from the same tank they purchased before the change. Then at the flip side, global prices fall, they'll keep charging the same price until they see a reason to drop prices back. Probably some time after every gas station in the area has refilled at the lower cost.

In reality, all business do this. They can sell a product based on what this unit cost them or based on what restocking this unit will cost them. Both are valid options from a business management standpoint. Most companies price based on closer to what the replacement unit costs, but they also factor in the market, and possibly some averaging of historical cost.

This nonsense about "built in America" where their just doing throwing all the Chinese designed and built components in a box and slapping the sticker on them, sucks. It's a start, but they really need to start designing their own inverter and building them in house if they want to actually make it in America.

It should show that on a sticker? Or does it not qualify for that

The good news is at least this way there'll hopefully be final domestic qc to catch unconnected/loose neutral bars etc that has been reported by several members. Previously I believe the excuse was there's no time to inspect every possible factory miswired unit.

They sell at what it will cost to refill the tank, not what it cost to fill the tank

They sell it at what they can get for it.

The price will go up if there is some emergency going on.

Supply and demand always works whether we want it to or not. You can't reap the benefits of capitalism without the negatives, too.
