EG4 Price Changes – What You Need to Know

Not sure about THAT thread -- if you look long enough on this forum you will find a thread about anything .... BUT ..from where I sit ... SOLARK has given an amount of support and attention that few others -- actually no others .... they don't ask you to try to prove this or that and send 800 pictures or "leave a message" etc etc ... maybe they just got better ... and to each their own ... there are still people out there swearing Signature Solar is the best customer service they have ever had -- and yet I am still waiting for that "CALL YOU RIGHT BACK" a year later ... LOL
On this forum it's definitely no surprise since we have about a dozen shills on here just waiting to Jump into any Anti Sol-Ark thread to blow it up.
Sol-Ark 15K (Aka 22.5Kpv) now at $5,842 from the eBay Dealer. Eg4 18Kpv now at $4898 from SS.
Rock Solid vs Beta Box. Save $944 and become a Beta Tester on a poorly supported Product that seems to be headed for discontinuation or Get the New Beta Grid/Flex Box system for $6599 and continue being a guinea pig.
BTW @ghostwriter66 you heard the Luxpower rumor? I suspect you have.

we literally import every day. the charges started hitting a month ago...
An additional 10% tariff went into effect a month ago, unless you air freight, you have received very little product in that timeframe. You may receive product every day, but most of it was at the old rate. As a major solar retailer that imports, I'm sure you were smart enough to order a lot of inventory in advance

From "the ebay dealer"? Can you list this presumably authorized reseller?

Here's where robby was handwaving away garbage support from Sol-ark, I guess it was February so a whole month ago?

Thanks.
Yep, I am letting people know the issue as I was told and not hiding it like Shills do.
I hear people talking about 18Kpv problems like it's some sort of Shhh keep quite don't let anyone know that it has this issue.

It's amusing that people like you who say they don't trust the Government, they don't trust companies and basically don't trust anything. Yet you are the same people who cannot appreciate when a company comes out and makes an honest statement acknowledging that they actually have a problem and explain why the problem exists and what they are doing to fix it. And BTW it is mostly fixed right now.

I noticed that today as well. As prices get closer together i dont see the attraction to EG4. The latest EG4 firmware update wasnt just fixing a bug, it was like 30... across multiple platforms...

As i understand the need for updates, this volume of updates/bugs doesn't scream reliability.

My experience with Solark is limited, i did a 12k for my uncle 3 years ago. Set it and forget it reliability so far. And solark prices have come DOWN since then.

we sea freight and they come in daily so impact is immediate. we made no cost on the flexboss or 12000xp because we were not impacted due to reshoring

My Sol-Ark 15k is $6800 installed with backup wiring at least on the line item. Was surprised but they are making money on the overall install, $3.40 / watt total with 30kwh Pytes batteries.

Switched from initial quote of Q-Cell 410's to Mission solar 410's due to very recent Q-cell price hike according to my installer, Mission holding prices while Q-cells raising even though neither affected by tariffs directly AFAIK.

This sounds like the system I want to put in for a relative.
How much was each of the Pytes 5Kwh batteries? Are they the V5 or EBox?

Gridboss up $600. $2399.95. I waited a couple of days too late. Their argument that its "essentially free" falls flat now. Looking for another solution.
Did you sign on as a member to Current Connected?
They were still selling them at the old price for members until the stock runs out.

They could not import anything that quickly, obvious the inventory was on hand
If you have expertise in international logistics I’ll yield, but this still sounds like speculation. I don’t have a horse in this race other than rejecting this idea that peoples opinions are posted as facts.

It takes at least 4 weeks to load, ship and unload a container, of course there could have been some products already on the water. When I ordered import items, we ordered 4 months in advance, and only full containers to save shipping costs.

Was thinking about pulling the trigger on another 6000xp, but I decided to just wait a year see how things pan out. There will be many exceptions to the tariffs made as time passes like 2016-2020.

By then, their may be some thing much better to buy.

V5 $2200 each installed
They are not cheap, but they are really good batteries.
My Installer buddy has made the switch from Fortress to Pytes.
The guy will not install anything that gives issues, so I know they are rock solid.
He hates service calls and will not take on any Job where the customer is looking to go with anything less than totally reliable equipment.

Yes not cheap, better once you figure shipping rack cables etc, but installer not losing money thats for sure, they said they have enough in stock for a few more installs including mine then price will prob go up due to tariffs.

GridBOSS from $1800 to $2400. The GB is a cost play since it wins because it replaces other stuff, but now that win is mostly eliminated.

FlexBOSS21 from $4200 to $4300. Okay, relatively minor, but the discounts are weaker and fewer now as well.

I don't see how the 0% number was computed from that.

No one is blaming EG4 for the tariffs, but don't treat us like dummies with claims we can easily see are false. Be honest and clear. If the prices have to go up, they go up, but understand EG4 is a value play and your sales will decrease because of the value loss.

I was ready to buy one FB21 and my brother was looking at two FB21 and GB. We both are now looking at alternatives, time to run the numbers again and see what else would do the job.

Mike C.
i beg to differ, they essentially drove the cost artificially down to the point that all of the original USA made tier one makers have closed down. what you will get in the future is cheap chinese crap and you will now pay even more than you did for the quality tier one items that everyone ignored chasing pennies
