EG4 Price Changes – What You Need to Know

Like hundreds if not thousands of other companies either already do or are in the process of doing.
The average man on the street follows all of the rules and regulations to the letter and gets nowhere in life, businessman find all the.. let's not call them loopholes just open interpretations or imaginative methods of complying with the system.
No arguments there and most of them are honest and open about what they are doing.
A lot of these lax area's of policy are implemented by your dear friends in government so that they can take advantage BTW.
All my dear friends in the government work in the correctional system so I can't give them any credit.

Maybe the average man would get further following the rules if the we didn't allow those with questionable morals to get away with imaginative methods of complying with the system.

Ultimately, in this instance, the difference comes down to whether they are coming on here and claiming to be high and mighty / different than the rest. Don't pee on me and tell me it's raining.
Exactly.

Shall we play 20 questions? Are we five?
Nope I over spoke because I just wanted to see if @ghostwriter66 had heard anything that might confirm what I heard.
Evidently she has not or does not want to comment.
I have nothing to say on the matter because I have no proof, just a story I heard going around.
I don't want to get in any legal issues if it turns out to be fake.
If it is true then everyone will know about it in the coming months.

The basis of my statement in post 120 that has gotten a lot of reaction.
Thanks for that. SKD Manufacturing... (aka skirt the tarrifs manufacturing).
I think final assembly or finished in the USA would be a more ethical description, assembled in the USA is a bit misleading.

Regardless I'm glad to see jobs brought to the USA.
I suppose I saw Jame's statement as "the pot calling the kettle black".

I'm betting prices for EG4 come back down in time.

Oh yeah well that is James for you.
He is going to go on about someone cheating but has no problem doing the same thing if it helps him make money.
I also suspect that these high prices are a ruse. Anytime now he will Start the "EG4 Spring Sale" and drop the prices down to be more in line with the actual Tariff increases.

Supposedly, there are many Chinese companies moving operations to Vietnam to get around things like the tariffs. I noticed some of Starlink's (Elon) hardware like power supply's etc. is made there, so we shall see if the tariffs go up for them as well.

When high tariffs, or tax is imposed the result is smuggling it's probably already happening. Manufacture location can be a sticker that is applied later. Who knows what is in those massive cargo ships from China my last batch of batteries all the lithium shipping labels were cut out of the boxes.

I kind of doubt it.
The government is very aware that many essential products cannot be cost effectively manufactured in the United States. For years the US government has been making it clear by trade policy that Vietnam is one of the preferred Countries to move manufacturing to, so as to not support China economically. Then again Mexico was also one of those countries pushed as being a place to do business with, so who really knows what is going to happen.
I suspect Trumps political capital is going to dry up very quickly if prices start to go up in every sector.

I continue to be BAFFLED by the constant bashing of SS/EG4 and others that have been critical suppliers for our DIY community. The comments have gotten juvenile and outright idiotic.

SO WHAT if prices increase in anticipation of reduced profits?
SO WHAT if prices increase due to a half-baked, see-saw of a trade "policy" that's sure to create economic whiplash?
SO WHAT if prices increase just because a seller believes there's additional value and their products are well worth it??

There is no monopoly here. You have options, choose what works for you. If you don't think there is value in what you're buying, don't f'ing buy it. I just don't understand all the bitching and moaning.

I personally don't see any value justification in the premium cost of SolArk. Their profit margins are undoubtably higher than most other DIY systems, but you won't find me complaining about it. I spend my money on what I consider to be a solid balance of cost/feature/function and support. For my needs EG4 continues to be top value and has consistently delivered. And now I get to decide if the uptick in cost is still worth it as I expand my system (it is).

Lastly for the squeaky wheels out there -- if EG4 cost 25% more from the get-go and was now able to "absorb" the tariffs, would you be feeling better about that? JFC.

Eg4techsolutionsteam created a thread about eg4 price increases and adults are having a conversation. According to you we should be on our knees thanking them. I guess many seem to disagree. Do carry on though.

It does seem like a lot of unwarranted hate towards EG4 and it feels like gate keeping to me. With HF AIO inverters it really expands the base of people who can easily install a system.
If you think you are too good for an EG4 system and you need to install a more complexed system, go ahead and do that.
If you don’t want to deal with novice questions from the new people that EG4 are bringing into the space, ignore these people.
But it is silly that the conversation is about a singular company that is trying to navigate uncertainty that was introduced by governmental policies.

Did you miss the title of this thread?

Critical infusions of cash/discounts in return for favorable mentions?
I seem to be doing just fine without any EG4 gear. I did buy some wire and solar panels from SS, but they were one of many choices and I decided to give them a chance. There were issues, and they were eventually taken care of ... but certainly not a critical supplier.

Zero cash/discounts. Favorable mentions are due to favorable experience.

I think you missed my entire argument and unnecessarily made it hostile. Do carry on though.

Critical suppliers??? :ROFLMAO:
Yep, without SS we would be talking about Growatt 6000T fan noise, exploding grid relays and crappy MPPT's
I am quite sure 90% of the traffic here is driven by SS, without Will and James (new TV show coming soon) we would all be using some Australian or EV website.
Yes, cock up's have been made, but here we are with a USA company making solar affordable to all, with support right here in the USA.
I am so sorry some of you are offended by this.

The hate towards EG4 isn't unwarranted. There are countless threads on here that will provide you with detail on why some people dislike them. Reading them all would take a great deal of time at this point. It was better to have experienced it in real time to get the full appreciation and allow for it to sink in properly.

How dare you use Will's name in the same sentence as James like that?!
