I am in the market for a 48V 100AH Lithium battery, to be connected to a Magnum MS448 inverter charger (60A) and a MagnaSine PT-100 solar charger (100A).

My short list of options boils down to:

- EG4-LL 48V 100AH @ $2,000 shipped
- AmpereTime 48V 100AH @ $2,100 delivered

As far as I can see they have very similar specs and performance, so I would like to hear from anyone who with direct experience with these brands whether or not they have some feedback, positive or negative.

Thanks in advance!

I have experience with the EG4 type battery in use 24/7/365 for over a year now. Here is an old thread :

Stick with the old style, no screen, and use a $2 resistor to precharge and be done with it is my best advice.

By old style you mean the EG4-LP, correct?

And what is the deal with the $2 resistor to pre-charge? Could you explain it a bit?

TIA!

The battery is shown in the link I provided. Not sure what they call it now.

The fancier batteries build in pre charge circuitry which can cause more problems than it solves IMHO.

This dude does a great job explaining pre charge with a simple resistor.
