Electric Jet Motor

My electric dinghy:
very nice. Love my electric trolling motors, just saying a jet drive system is a completely different animal and are not know for their energy efficiency even on gas engines.

I believe rule of thumb going off the top of my head, is prop is efficient till 35mph, jetdrive becomes efficient at 35 mph and surface pericing 40 to 45mph... that's what I remember from an article I read.

I wonder, if like electric cars, the efficiency curves are different between gas and electric? I've read similar to what you say, but I'm almost certain they were referencing gas

This was strictly prop, jet, surface pericing.. I think when the article was written gas diesel was really only option.... I would like to understand better why electric can usually be sized smaller hp.... I understand its torque, but in vehicles most engines on the road are almost never putting out rated Hp and if so for a very short time. Marine is kinda different, at least the high speed stuff. I am not so sure at high speed hp specs will change much, gas or electric.

Silverramp, where is the motor in E-Propulsion Pod format 😆 :p

22 000kW direct drive electric propulsion. IIRC the larger ones are 98% efficient.
Been in production for no less than 30 years, manufactured nearby here in Finland.
