I thought I'd share something I only learned two days ago...Yes that is my guess atm aswell, battery is now at friends house near the radiator, we let it sit there for a day and try again. We have been quite a few times in cold weathers with the battery (-10c) and no problems at all, but I guess this was the first time for the battery to have low voltage and cold temperature (-5c) combined.
Heated batteries only power their heaters from charging current. If I had known this 2 years ago when shopping, my RV batteries would be heated. Instead, I avoided buying heated batteries because I thought it would impact capacity when boondocking.
If a battery is in low-temperature protection mode and a charger is attached, the battery will run the heaters from the charger until it's warm enough to begin charging the cells. Makes perfect sense, but I didn't understand it this way and no vendors seem to explain that's how their heating works.
Just sharing this in case a new battery is in your future...
