I’m needing to replace my 48 volt battery bank that is stored in an enclosed trailer where the solar panels are mounted. In your opinion what would be the best battery bank should I use in your opinion? I live in south East Tennessee. Thanks for your help!!

What battery do you have now?
What A/H capacity?
What inverter?
What Charge Controller?
How is the system used?

8/6 volt lead acid batteries at 235 amp hrs
Magna sine inverter
Outback flex 80 charge controller
It’s used as a back up but I would like to use it a lot more when I the new bank.

This vendor and the sales rep Amy, have been fully vetted by many members here. In fact members of this forum have bought over 5000 cells from Xuba since 15 Jan 2020.
Be sure and tell Amy that you are with this forum to get free buss-bars and fasteners.

Be sure your current equipment can be re-programmed to the specs of the battery.
You will need a Battery Management System (BMS) as well. Chargery is a brand that is well used by this forum.

Heat is the enemy of all batteries. Other than giving the cells free air there's not much you can do. You could insulate the trailer, install a Mini Split A/C system and set the thermostat to 80F. If you were to partition the trailer into a well insulated, small living space where humans and the batteries could live you would use much less power.

What does your solar array consist of?

9 200plus watts. I don't remember the exact watts per panel

I contacted Amy and she has given me a quote for 16 cells. Do you have a diagram of how they should be put together and how many amp hrs will I have when this 48 volt bank is finished?

I think I answered one of my questions. but I still need to know the total amp hrs for 16 of these cells built for a 48 volt bank. I really appreciate the help. Most of this is foreign to me. Would the series diagram be the best?

280 amp hours @ 51.2 nominal volts = 14336 watt hours = 11468.8 usable watt hours @ 80 percent depth of discharge.

They are both in series. The two pictures just show how to arrange the cells in a rectangular or square-ish shape.

I’m using the square shape since it fits my battery box space better and it puts the connections for the terminals close together so I can keep the cable lengths equal in my setup.
