I just want to say that the forum has been really enjoyable lately. Hope it stays that way.
Really want to thank everyone for their opinions (right or wrong), knowledge, and all the free help given everyday. I know it takes a lot of your time and effort to do that. I can’t wait to get my own system designed, and up and running. My wife will be happy not to have to go outside every morning
(or myself) to start the generator for a pot of coffee?
Thanks again, have a great weekend.

I echo the original poster’s sentiments.

In fact this is my first post as I decided to join only recently after reading on here for months.

And the joy of it all is that I still have months of reading to go!

There is no finer resource online for comprehensive end-user solar info, I really and truly mean that. I’ve viewed countless other forums and this one takes the cake.

We have cake?!?! :)

I also love this forum.
it’s not just the help full people but also It’s unique in the way it is moderated. Clear simple guidelines with plenty of freedom to express your opinions or questions without over moderation. it’s kind of an extension to the owners way of living.

There are forums where members who make a financial contribution have a phrase on their identity field that says “CPF Supporter” (in the case of candlepowerforums.com)

That is a way to remind folks that it costs money to host such an endeavor as this. Just an idea; could be, not a good fit here?

This information-gathering ability with internet connection is so wonderful in so many ways. Many people interested in solar are just good folks doing good things.

Having started with solar when the Harbor Freight Fisher Price My First Solar kits were the best available option, I have learned SSSSOOOOOO much on here.

I haven't tried the other fora, but haven't seen any reason to go elsewhere except if the others come up in a search for something obscure. Said search is as likely to come up with this forum as anything else, though.

@KITROBASKIN's suggestion is a good intermediate step. Looking ahead, I expect the ability to provide free (as in beer) services like this one to degrade for everyone, so easing into some form of subscription model now is probably a wise move. I'm on a different site, with a different target, that's basically a $5/month minimum, but I hope this forum doesn't ever have to go anywhere near that high. It does wonders to keep out trolls and spam bots, however, along with paying for the site and more.

Went to put my money where my mouth is and donate, but the currency conversion fee is high for one mod, and Paypal wouldn't let me eliminate the purchase protection fee for the other two. Sorry, that rubs me the wrong way. I'll mail a cheque, even if it costs more, before I give paypal that cut.

Just saw this…
I couldn’t have done the system upgrades to my motorhome I was able to do, without the help and advice of this forum.
Invaluable learning opportunity. ?
