Enphase Envoy needed?

Dear experts,
I have a problem where my 4x 0.25kW PV are not generating anymore energy as the meter indicates. The system has 4 microinverters Enphase M215.
I called a PV service companies and said that, 99% chances, are that I need to install an Enphase Envoy-S to make it work again. The system worked for around 2 years before becoming faulty. Considering the cost which I was given, I am wondering if that makes sense or just a way to sell me the Envoy ?

The reasons you need an envoy are to load profiles, monitor system, reporting, and some diagnostics. Not needed to use M series MI’s. If all 4 M215s were working and stopped, check your AC wiring from the breaker back to M215s. If they don’t see the sine wave they will not turn on. eBay has a couple of Envoy-S for around $50 used. Do not mix with new IQ series, they are not compatible.
