Epever RS485 to usb - Pin change info please.

Hello all, apparently the RS485 to usb cable from Epever is not a standard Ethernet pin lay out.
I don't really want to buy a cable for £13 when I have so many spare Ethernet cables, and a Ethernet to usb converter.

So soldering iron at the ready; what's the Epever pin layout?

Do you have an ftdi chip (or equivalent) lying around to convert 485 pulses to USB serial port packets?

Oh heck, now your going to say there's a chip in the Epever cable aren't you?
