I use WIFI as well, I like it. I use 2 charge controllers one is Epever one is Renogy both rated at 100V max.
Just bought CHINS 12V 50Ah LiFePO4 Battery and concerned now after reading all the info out there so many views it is daunting.
I use Epever software V 1.95 CC is a 2210A model. Battery arrived with info and I plan on using what they recommend.
Software parameter settings are my hurdle, I was using that 1st parm selection since I had a a SLA battery I clicked "read"
and only changed volts and Ah for battery. However I see a 2nd parameter choice says "LIPO" arrangement should I just use that instead?
And if so will it read my CHINS battery OR should I manually change things and to what specs?
Thank you it is all a learning curve for sure.
Loading the 'lipo' settings is a good start, actually for lifepo4. Maybe they call it 'lithium'. Anyway, most find the default 14.4 or 14.6 boost voltage to be too high, with some cells over-volting and bms shut down. 14.0 to 14.2 will charge fully without over-volting. Duration of two hours may also be too long, although can work with a lower boost voltage, say in that 13.8 to 13.9 range. I set mine for about 30 minutes at 14.2. If I try to charge higher than that I'll get runaway cells that reach full charge before the others. In storage mode I set it to 13.8 for a one hour duration, which serves to get it to about 90% before switching to float.
You can charge high and fast for a shorter duration, or lower and slower for a longer duration - whatever best suits your application.
Equalize should be set to zero time, the voltage will default to whatever you set your boost to.
Float is generally 13.4, will maintain a high level of charge and service loads. If you get too much discharge it can be a little higher. I use a lower setting for storage, a higher setting for active use when we're living in the unit (RV).
Re-boost voltage is when you want it to start the boost cycle over, so when your battery gets down to a level you want it to activily recharge - I think the default is 13.2.
Even if you start from the 'lithium' settings as soon as you adjust any values it's going to display 'user' - just means you have custom settings from their defaults. I leave max and mins at default as they don't really come into play on my system.
By selecting the 'lithium' settings you get all the parameter options for LFP charging.
