I plan to use 3x300W panels, 2x100AH deep cycle batteries, and 5x20W 24V led bulbs. No inverter. I need to fabricate a stand-alone panel mount. My questions are:
1. I would like to use galvanized fence posts for the panel mount, both vertical posts (buried in concrete) and horizontal crosses. Is there a bracket that joins the posts at 90 degrees? Any general advice on the panel mount will be much appreciated. The mount needs to be about 6 feet (2 meters) tall to clear the fence.
2. Lead acid batteries (and charge controller) will be sitting under the panels in the shade. In summer temperature reaches 100 deg F. Is this a problem to lead acid chemistry?
3. I found "water proof" charge controllers on amazon. May I trust their water proof claim?
4. The farthest location is 100 feet (30 m) from from the battery. Wire resistance = 0.0065 (ohms/ft) x 200 (ft) = 1.3 ohms. LED bulb draws 1A. Voltage drop is 1.3 volt (out of 24 v). It seems reasonable. Advice?
Thank you.
