Our usage averages ~5,000kWh per year
Location: Massachusetts (4.2 peak sun hours)

Panels will be in an open field ~300ft from our house

Primary goal: Offset electric bill
Secondary goal: Backup when grid is down (with generator backup)

EG4 1200xp Inverter spec sheet...
EG4 LifePower4 battery spec sheet...

Looking on feedback on:
  • Do these components make sense?
  • Does this wiring setup make sense?
  • Are the wire gauge, breakers, conduit sizing correct?
  • What would you do differently?
Thanks in advance for your input!

I'm working to build my own similar system but with 2x 12000xp's and about 50-60kwh of battery, but what you drew up looks very similar to what I see in this video -
. In the video, he's using an 18k inverter and only using 70a breakers, but the idea is identical on the grid/panel/inverter/battery side of the diagram. There are a lot of comments with some feedback on that video that might be helpful too.

If anyone with more information and experience reviews this diagram, I'd love to hear how it could also be adopted for a 200a main panel, and 2x 12000xp's in parallel running 4x EG4 powerwalls or Ruixu 16kwh packs. Specifically, what the breakers/boxes would look like between the polaris splitters and the inverter grid input and then again between the inverters load output and the 100a (or 125a in my case) breaker on the main panel.
