Ok so my first ever solar project, I chose to do a solar generator hand truck.

  • 4 Rich 200Watt solar panels 800 watts total
  • Victron Smart Solar 150V/60A charge controller
  • Jita 12V 200AH LifePO4 Battery
  • Bayite DC 6.5-100V LCD Display
  • 3000Watt GOwise Sine Wave Inverter
  • 4/0 gauge cable between battery to inverter
I got some 41” solar panel adjustable mounts and then I built a wood frame and put nice wheels on the bottom to get able to easily move my panels around the yard. Not only for making sure I can get the best sun absorption, but if I need to mow I can disconnect the cables and push the solar array out of way to mow the grass.

I do realize I need to get a on off switch to go between the battery and inverter and a disconnect switch for solar cables. For now I’m using mc4 as my connect and disconnect.

Go easy on me ?

Thanks!! Yes I knew if power were lost we would need to be able to keep fridge, a freezer, and cpap machine running at minimum. I did a trial run with battery fully charged and ran all 3 for about 10 hours. So I need a little more battery capacity to feel better about relying on it fully. Want to have at minimum enough to go a full day preferably 2 without needing sun so in case we have a couple bad rainy cloudy days.

Nice job, looks great. Just a suggestion...you might want to add another brace on the back of panels, up at the top of the rail holding the panels. Just in case you get a really strong wind. You might make one brace to go all the way across all panels, and attach to your bottom brackets on each end of the platform.

Thanks! Yeah I was thinking about running a rail along the top as you mentioned, the length is just under 10’ so Home Depot and Lowes have 8’ length of that L type rail with holes along it so I’ll have to do 2 of them. ?
