It used to be that the safest place to be was exactly on the 5-day forecast track, that was pretty much guaranteed to miss! Now the 3-day forecast is mostly accurate, and the 5-day is 'not awful'. A friend of a friend is a NOAA forecaster, and I tried to tell him that he could make some serious coin by sharing his (approximate) location, if he was bugging out, then we'd know it was time to go. 8*)

The last depression over the Yucatán Peninsula never developed. The couldn't figure that one out. Now it is sitting over us just raining. Milton came from the Pacific and now heading for Florida. WTF?! Very strange for gulf storms in October. Usually early in the season in Aug-Sept.

It has been a very strange season and I shall toot my own horn and say I thought so from the start. Nothing really made it across the Atlantic they all did a sharp right and I was always concerned about locally developed storms this year.

Just watching some predictions that it could ramp up to a 4 or 5 as it moves past the Yucatan but most models show it weakening rapidly before making landfall - down to a 2 or maybe even a 1. A 2 is bad enough but it sounds good if you were expecting a 5. I have friends in a couple places near Orlando, neither with solar or even a gen (I've been preaching for years but it doesn't help). They're a little freaked out but based on the models I think the east coast of FL is going to just get some wind and rain. That's my hope anyway - you can't ever tell with hurricanes. All y'all in the path - stay safe and make smart decisions. As someone already said, at least you have a rock solid governor who's already getting things staged to get in there quickly.

by tuesday NAM & HRRR will have some good forecasts where trajectory, this one could be one of the worst we've seen

Information is good, prepare early, and hope it wasn't that big of a deal.. Just filled up couple of gas cans. Stations are getting busy. Fleet of Amazon vans where there filling up for those emergency deliveries. For some reason I though of Blue Light Special.

Well it is raining and raining and raining already. I have a moat, i get the dragon in from Amazon in the morning! (Should have order a more batteries...) But i had in fact lost all control and order him anyhow!

I look at weather bug and they say we got an inch. My pool is 3" higher and it will repeat for days without a hurricane. My Panels charged 3% of my normal sunny day amount but I am at 91% with 35 KWh with a couple of KW in solar generators. Generators are ready. I have yet to try the Chargverter on generator. The Flat Pack rectifiers in there are pretty forgiving. Don't expect any solar in a few days. Thinking of opening the breakers on them. Yep, I wish I had more batteries....
