My dad built a "cabin" in the CO mountains. Two story, about 1500 square feet. Mom didn't have much input on the structure over the years. When it came time to finish the interior, they had divorced, so mom's input was no longer available. We cleaned out the cabin this month and the interior is so bad that a complete remodel is the only solution. Three different patterns of wallpaper in the same room, wainscoting straight out of the 70's, trim that doesn't match, flooring that ends long before it should, tile that that isn't flat and the list goes on. So many unfinished projects. So many DIY implementations that will leave the inspector scratching his head.

If dad had actually finished the interior and done a tasteful job, the list price for the place would be almost $100K more.
