I am installing a bunch of panels in parallel. For simplicity let's just say I'm installing 10 100 Watt single panels in parallel. It is my understanding that I need a fuse between each parallel panel to prevent back-feeding a panel just in case the said panel has a short. Doesn't a bi-directional diode do the same thing? Can I install a diode instead of a fuse? Do I need both a fuse and a diode? I was going to order MC4 inline diode or Fuses. Pros and cons of each?
Thanks
