GBLI5001 Built-In Fuse Size?

I've a few GBLI5001's

I've had 2 where the fuse has blown. I'm assuming because they were being charged or discharged too hard from a SPH6000 (I normally use a SPA3000 which is limited ot about 63a charge, but the SPH will charge to over 80 amps and I didn't consider that... Doh...). Although there could be a fault with them - only way to know is to fix them and try again only on the SPA. They have third party BMSs installed and Battery Balancers, and the Balancer is reporting all voltages are good

Anyway I'd like to replace the fuse, but there's very little of it left! Does anyone know what amperage the fuse should be? Looking at documentation the battery can apparently be charged up to 66 amps, so I'm thinking a 70 or 80 amp fuse

Here is the answer in case anyone else needs to know

It's an 80amp

So charging from the SPH (and not lowering the charge amperage) was the cause

Just as a note - fuses are not generally structural and should never be used without a holder.

I agree. The fuse was covered in heatshrink, which to be fair, did hold it vey well, but on my replacements I am going to use fuses with fuse holders

Like this

Covering something that should be able to shed heat doesn't help that at all.

For a holder - something like this would be better - ignition safe so if it blows and there is the chance of a vent cell at the time, the fuse won't be the ignition source like I suspect it was in this thread... there was a lot of talk at the time... 46 pages worth...

Thank you. I shall investigate that

I'm not stupid enough to house >100kwh of batteries in my house. They are in a shed away from my house and with a internet connected fire detector and fire extinguisher near-by

I would be more concerned if I had not known the reason for the fuse failure, but I do know, and that was purely my own fault - so I am stupid afterall!
