Interesting development… but lithium isn’t rare, it is difficult to extract. I’m glad GM is laying the groundwork to achieve EV only vehicles by 2035, but I’m hoping, as I’m sure GM is, that better than lithium energy density media will be available by then.

I'd like to see some good progress in recycle/reuse/reclaiming of the batteries as well. Can't keep digging holes in the ground and burying it. A second life in home solar is a good start if that's worth it. Certainly the batteries can be separated into their individual components somehow and repurposed into new batteries or another product.
