Anyone want to get in the weeds with me and my Tigo EI inverters? I'm not familiar enough with the communication language/protocols between the systems and I am trying to connect my 30Kah Yixiang battery bank to my Tigo EI inverters.
I've connected my batteries and RS485 cat5 cable to the inverter. Neither is recognizing the other...

I would love some assistance from anyone that can help....

It depends on the BMS. There are 50 RS485 protocols and 50 canbus protocols. It's just trial and error scrolling through, and if you're lucky, one will work. However I have found that it's best(easiest) to run open loop and somewhat more reliable. With open loop you can mix and match your batteries easily of the same voltage and chemistry.

Have you looked into solar assistant? That has helped me a great deal with managing my system. I was very reluctant at first, but the free trial really sold me on it.

Chances are most inverters out in the wild these days speak PylonTech.
Consult the inverter manual.

Directly connecting the BMS to the inverter via a cable wouldn't work unless it is the newer PB series.
Even then, you're better off DIYing your own comms solution. It's cheap $20 in parts anyway.
All that is needed is a CANBus transceiver and an ESP32 board and connectors/wires.

Tigo shows Modbus as the comm protocol.
I'm lost when it comes to getting things to talk to each other (my wife will attest to this lol)
