Everything is coming together for a system I'm purchasing in the US and shipping to Central America. I plan on getting 2 Growatt 3K inverters and note people saying how loud the fans are, which sounds like cheap, inefficient fans but just guessing. Has anyone replaced the originals with quieter, more efficient ones?
I haven't replaced fans in the Growatt,
But my 3 X
3.2kw Revo-II
The top fans pull, the lower fans push.
Original the airflow was reversed, that wasn't optimal for the heatsinks.
The top fans are controlled by the units, lower ones I have a small temperature controller to adjust the speed if /when needed.
In day to day use, the top 2 X 14cm fans are more then enough to cool anything I throw at them for loads.
Looking back, just 2 fans would be enough.
I can advice the high speed silent wings 3, 120mm
They have the best pressure rating and can be virtually silent.
They have to be.. they're in/close by our bed room
Be quiet does have 80mm silent wings 2, but they don't have the air pressure needed to cool.
My Revo II came with high quality double ball bearing fans, consumer price $20,- each.
So no budget cut there.
Liquid baring is more expensive and not a lot used in the inverter world.
All ball bearings will be loud at that size and air pressure.
Sleeve bearings won't last a few years.
If you are interested I can share a few pictures on how and where I made internal adjustment
