Hello -
I've posted this same message to the Jayco Owners forums group and haven't gotten any responses. Thought maybe I'd try here.
I have a 2019 Jayco JayFeather 27RL TT that is “Solar Ready”. It is wired with a GoPower “Solar on the Side” charge port mounted on the A-Frame of the trailer. I've learned that this setup is intended to be used with a portable or suitcase type of solar panel/controller. As delivered from the dealer, there is a RED wire coming from the back side of this SAE plug that appears to be included in a bundle of wires that goes into a junction box that is attached to the trailer’s frame. The BLACK wire from the back of the SAE plug is hanging loose. I need to know where to attach this BLACK wire to make this plug setup functional. Can I or should I go directly to the NEGATIVE terminal on the battery? Or should I try to find an appropriate place to attach it in the junction box? Jayco won’t advise but they did provide a schematic. The dealer won’t advise over the phone and I really don’t want to drag the trailer on a 100 mile round trip for a 5 minute fix. Attached is the schematic I got from Jayco. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
