Grid ties EG4 18kPv with PowerPro Battery, to regularly discharge or not

Running a grid tied EG4 18kPv. I was charging the battery every day, and discharging to 20% every night. I saw a 15+% efficiency loss on the charge/discharge cycle. I don't have true net metering, each kWh I export then import costs about $0.01, and at the end of the year, they cash out my "banked" exported kWh at Wholesale rates (currently around $0.05/kWh)

The cost is minimal, so would it make more sense from a battery health/longevity standpoint to avoid the efficiency loss by NOT discharging the battery every night, holding it in reserve against the grid dropping? If so, should I periodically discharge the PowerPro to maintain battery health?

All thoughts and recommendations would be appreciated!

I assume you have the inverter and battery in closed loop communication? Assuming your firmware is up-to-date, the batteries seem to take care of themselves pretty well.

Note, you cannot get full power out of an 18 KPV with a single power pro battery.

You'll occasionally want to go through a discharge/recharge cycle to keep the BMS(es) calibrated.
