Gridboss - couple question on operation modes.

Since I live in an area where we have a POCO who has flat out said no to any interconnect or grid feedback due to sub station limitations, I'm forced into a grid tied system with strict zero export or an off grid with grid passthrough. either way, I think the Gridboss/FB21 will fit the bill in either off grid mode or no grid sell back mode. but a couple questions....

1: In the manual the offgrid mode states that batteries can be charged? but how if the inverters are not technically grid connected as per the diagram from the manual below...

2: In no grid sell back mode, is there still the potential for grid feedback? like what would happen if you had a large load drop off on just the 18kpv, or any other hybrid inverter. Or Does the gridboss "protect" the grid from the inverters?

I’ve got both flexboss21 and gridboss setup …with my 200a house panel as backup load and was showing like 85 watts going back to grid … called sig solar and they walked me thru and now I have zero

What steps did you have to take?

the support team at sig solar actually did a couple of simple choices for my flex boss app … the choices were a little tricky for me to understand as they are similar till I get a good understanding of the choices .. but nothings going back to grid now

Similar to our off-grid inverters, because the GridBOSS is connected to the grid, it has the ability to charge batteries but not power loads on Off Grid Mode.

On No Grid Sell Back Mode, it will not feedback to grid. It is designed to ensure no feedback to the grid.

In off grid mode when charging the battery, the gridboss will not supply power to the backed up loads?

That’s correct! As long as there’s sufficient PV to power the loads, the grid won’t be used. However, if the PV isn’t enough, the grid will automatically take over, powering the loads.

Can you clarify? When you say "take over", do you mean that the inverter will stop outputting AC power and all power to the load will come from the grid, or can the available battery/PV go to the load with the grid supplementing the shortfall?
