GridBOSS different brand paralleling

It can be used as a dumb combiner for inverters as well as manual control of the generator and timer control of the smart ports. It's not in the documentation and not recommended by the manufacturer so if you blow it up, it's on you.
I can't imagine it would be that difficult to expand the functionality with a firmware update but I am no programmer so I don't know for sure.
Will it be powered by the smart ports like the Growatt with battery upon grid failure?

This is what I'm trying to dope out. It sounds like whatever powers the logic board and relays gets it power either from the grid side, the generator input, or the hybrid ports. I'm trying to figure out a way to power the logic/relays long enough to have it call for generator start so I can use it as a glorified ATS/GenStart until I get a FlexBoss put in. If it could get power off a smartport configured as an AC Coupled input I could toss a low power cheap inverter on there with a small battery just long enough for it to get the generator up. It sounds like the GB won't powerup with AC Coupled input over a smart port though?

I wish they had a tap into the logic control for a small backup battery. That would solve the cold-start issue too.

I did talk to someone from EG4 and they did confirm that if you manually start the generator the GB will come to life once the generator is producing power. They couldn't/wouldn't say for sure if it would power over a smart port or if there was somewhere you could add a circuit for a backup battery.
