Hey there, this is my first post on the forum. we just got our first system installed, Flexboss and gridboss combo. We do not want to sell to the grid so that was the very first thing i set, but despite that, when i was turning on Self Consumption mode to test i saw that it was exporting anywere from 60-150w to the grid. Am i missing a setting? is this a bug or should i be worried. Also i have not checked for updates since we installed, caught this and was trying to figure it out before exploring more. Thanks!

Free bump for you.

Did you figure it out?

thank you! but No i didnt. leaving it in backup mode for now. i cant tell if its a bug on the site or if something is not working properly. we dont have solar connected as of now, using it has a backup and was trying to explore the working modes but noticed it.

Does it have a SBU option in the menu?
Greg
i dont see an "SBU" option under the gridboss or flexboss. again no solar is connected, just using the system as a battery backup. Will be installing solar at a later date.

Thank you guys for your interest for this issue, nice to know it isn't a technical or visual bug that it was exporting with those settings off.

we apologize for the confusion. There was an error in our previous post.

Off-Grid Mode should not be enabled on the Flexboss since it communicates with the Gridboss.

If you’d like to share your settings, we can review them and assist you further.

In order to prevent any power going back to grid, you will need to enable Off-Grid Mode.
You really need to clarify that answer because I suspect you are wrong.
This system is designed mainly for Grid tied systems and pushing back power to the Grid without an agreement is not allowed.

I've noticed this behavior too. I'm hoping the POCO doesn't care since it is less than a kwh per day and I am under contract with them awaiting new meter.Screenshot 2025-02-19 145624.png

They will care. I suggest you call EG4 and see if it is some kind of CT settings adjustment issue or Firmware issue.
I have a list of production issues with the Flexboss / GridBoss that EG4 is aware of. I'll add this to the pile when I have more unpaid beta testing time. I suspected it was just another math / precision / rounding error since the webmonitor is FULL of them.

I thought this thing was done and being sold to end users. I heard people saying that the only issues are in the App.
What is the webmonitor, some sort of Beta group report board.

Robby, you should spend more time defending Solark than attacking EG4.
You can't stop the EG4 train, but you might be able to save Solarks rear end !!!!

I have no reason to believe all of my issues can’t be fixed in software. I am new to all this and don’t know if these issues are common in solar or if EG4 /Luxpower have a track record of fixing these gremlins.
I considered Solark but the eg4 setup seemed to offer a lot more value.

From what I have seen they seem to move onto a new product before the old one is completely fixed.

I see that they upgraded you from the 18Kpv to the Flexboss and Gridboss combo.
At least you are working hard for it.

Still seems like a concern, if there was an outage, any voltage/output could become a hazard for linemen. But you're experiencing this too??

Edit: Did you have Zero Grid export enabled as well or just the 2 grid sell back features?

Enable this for true zero export

Thanks for the reply! I get that Off-Grid Mode stops exports truly, but why wont the other 2 settings (Grid Sell Back and Fast Zero Export) do that properly?? Wouldn’t Off-Grid Mode also force my system to drain the batteries first and cut off AC passthrough until their dead? I’m using this as a backup, not my main power, so constantly cycling the batteries just to recharge from AC again seems unnecessary. We do plan at adding solar at some point but seems odd the 2 grid features don't seemingly work... Is that a bug, or is there another way to stop exports without forcing battery use first?

Would love some clarification, appreciate the help!

Dang EG4 really edited their message away. If it werent for you would not have known what they said... I guess this same response applies to Luxpower's response.
